WCVB coverage of the press conference held at the home of Ed and Elaine Brown on 6/18/07.

Ed and Elaine Brown were convicted of federal tax evasion in January. They did not appear in court for their sentencing, where they were ordered to serve five and a half years in prison. They have remained in their heavily fortified home in Plainfield, N.H., since April.

I just finished watching The Money Masters: How International Bankers Gained Control of America (http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-515319560256183936&hl=en). I transcribed a portion (begins around 2:07:35 in the documentary) for your review:

Why was the income tax law important?

Because bankers finally had in place a system which would run up a virtually unlimited federal debt.

How would the interest on this debt be repaid, never mind the principal?

Remember, a privately owned central bank creates the principal out of nothing. The federal government was small then. Up until then, it had subsisted merely on tariffs and excise taxes. No, just as with with the Bank of England, the interest payments had to be guaranteed by direct taxation of the people. The money changers knew that if they had to rely on contributions from the states, eventually the individual state legislatures would revolt and either refuse to pay the interest on their own money or at least bring political pressure to bear to keep the debts small...

Key Point: Monetary reform is the most important political issue facing this nation.

I have to be honest here and say I haven't read the entire thing yet; however, I feel it is irresponsible to encourage people to not pay their taxes. My brother and sister-in-law jumped on that band wagon and almost lost everything they had. Jumping in and having everyone do what they want sounds like the crap our forces are mixed up over seas! Let's do this the right way. It will be harder, there's no arguing that but the government has unlimited resources to use-at our expense no less-so who will suffer? The individual! Who will come, or be able to afford to come, to his/her rescue? It seems there is always something this country should fix, there is corruption everywhere and everyone has their particular favorite "fix" to go after. Let's just try being a moral (meaning all things encompasing "moral"), compassionate to our selves first, faith bearing society again. Now isn't that a tall request!

I'm so tired of being taxed every which way. We are again living in an era of Taxation-Without-Representation, and last time we had a Revolution!

Yes, I will be voting for Ron Paul, and telling everyone who will listen to vote for him also.

This video could do without the music playing so loudly, and it played too much over Ron Paul when he was speaking. I think the producer of this piece should have chosen an instrumental version of this song. I had a hard time because I was listening to the words of the song and at the same time trying to intently read the quotes.

Ron Paul rocks. I've been sending money and putting up flyers around my town. I've read several posts from others on the internet that say this is the first time they've ever sent in political money. There are also several posts that say he'll be the first time they've voted in 20 years. Go Ron Paul.

It depends on whose listening/monitoring this board. Is it safe to say anything about the U.S. gov't? Just kidding :-)
The IRS as I understand it is not even a legally created entity. Who likes to pay taxes? It seems to me to be a communistic structure - maybe one of the only decent things about communism. I've seen IRS agents raid a non taxpayer's home and pillage it like a gestapo.
Then again, aren't we all in this country together, using the same roads, schools, libraries, helping those who really need it, etc? What would happen to us seriously without this.
Some of the 'rules' that the IRS/gov't has come out with are pretty outrageous. I sure don't wanna pore through all that stuff. So maybe we can find a balance somehow.

Okay, I'm going to play the devil's advocate here. I hate seeing my money go out the door every April 15th too, but I also drive on paved roads, use electricity, am glad there are police and firefighters, and have parents who are retired and live on Social Security. I enjoy national and state parks. I am thankful there are farmers who can produce the organic food I buy--they would be out of business if it weren't for gov't subsidies--(I'm not being negative at all. I was raised on a small farm and it was a struggle to make ends meet.) I am glad families can go to Social Services to get medical help and food stamps.

I see everyone supporting no taxes, but follow it through--offer some alternatives, because one way or another, someone needs to pay for the things we take for granted. Or are you prepared to pave your own stretch of road, generate your own electricity... Or how about adopting a needy family and paying their medical bills?

The federal income tax is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated by government. Two frauds were perpetrated in 1913: the 16th Amendment & the Federal Reserve Act. The 16th Amendment (the Income Tax Amendment) was never legally ratified by the states in 1913. It was orchestrated by powerful bankers to seize control of the US government (by redistributing wealth and controlling society). The tax ends up in the pockets of powerful bankers. Senators were bribed to pass the Federal Reserve Act without the required constitutional amendment. Congress and the President are aware of these frauds. There are only two forms of taxation recognized by the Constitution: a direct tax and an indirect tax. A direct tax must be apportioned (divided equally amongst the people). An indirect tax must be the same (uniform) throughout the states (examples: gas tax, tobacco tax). However, the federal income tax is a direct tax which is not apportioned as the Constitution demands. The income tax income tax being applied now doesn't meet the criteria of either direct or indirect taxes. The IRS claims that in 1913 the 16th Amendment allowed the government a third form of taxation, which is false. There is no constitutional basis for tax on the wages. The 16th Amendment conferred no new power of taxation. Income means a corporate profit (a corporate capital gains profit). 100% of what is collected is absorbed soley by interest on the federal debt. All individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services taxpayers expect from government. Our income tax system does not fund government. For example, education is paid for by local property taxes and gas taxes pay for highways. How did we fund government from 1776 to 1913? Go watch Aaron Russo's America: Freedom to Fascism!

The judge ordered him not to sell anymore of his books. so he isn't he's giving them away!!!!!! And he is in jail for contempt of court because he keeps on asking the judge to show him the law that says you must pay income taxes and the judge won't answer him because there is no such law and Mr. Schiff knows it and so does the judge.

watch his explanation on why and how filling the INCOME TAX is VOLUNTARY ACTION!!!!!!! In another words you do NOT have to pay it....

Thank you for this information. I have known about Dr Paul for sometime now and I know what he says is the truth and I know he believes and acts on what he says. Every American needs to watch this and ask questions if you don't believe in this man, or if you need further proof or clarification.

Each of the topics that Ron Paul has addressed in answering all of the questions about our country´s policies, that are absolutely wrong and are failing to follow the right courses in so many phases of government, can and should be corrected in the manner that he so correctly states.
Is there any possiblility at all that the vested powers, that are presently controlling the congress by virtue of lobbies and other unknown controls, would allow him to actually become president and start to enforce his most needed corrections????????????___________
His ideas are quite correct but would he really be allowed to put them into action? I think he would be removed from office just as was John Kennedy and his brother who had planned to act against the bad guys that everyone knew about. It is a crying shame that we all know what should be done but how in the world is it possible to bring it about?
I was able to get more people to change parties to vote for change from the two party system than anyone else some years ago but to no avail when the candidate´s family was apparently threatened and he chose to drop out of the presidential race because of it.
I will gladly get on the bandwagon to put Ron Paul into office if it is really feasible. I can spread the word on the internet to hundreds of people if I am just directed as to how to go about it. I have hundreds of email addresses of people I have never known but can be contacted by email with whatever information may be of help to elect Ron Paul.
