This is a shocker - Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA)speech on house floor.

IN FLOOR SPEECH, WOLF RAILS ABOUT ABUSES IN CHINA ' China of today is worse than the China of yesterday, or of last year, or of the last decade.'

Washington , D.C. - Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) today delivered the following statement on the floor of the House today addressing multiple concerns about China , the products it produces and its poor record on human rights:

"Imagine a country where factory workers have no workplace safety, labor or environmental protections and are required to work 80 hour-weeks for no more than $110 per month to produce goods for export.

"Imagine a country which boldly supplies missiles and chemical weapons technology to countries that support or harbor terrorists.

"Imagine a country that oversees a network of espionage operations against American companies and the U.S. government.

"Imagine a country which tortures and imprisons Catholic bishops, Protestant church leaders, Muslim worshipers, Falun Gong followers, and Buddhist monks and nuns just because of their faith and systematically destroys churches and confiscates Bibles.

"Imagine a country which has a thriving business of harvesting and selling for transplant kidneys, corneas and other human organs from executed prisoners who are thrown in prison with no trial or sentencing proce

Why doesn't the USA make our own vitamins that are inspected and to our quality and standards? It's always about the $$$$. Nothing is made in the USA anymore.

Mercola's Cookware Set, which I just received, is made in CHINA! They still use lead in their paints and these pans are colored enamel. You can't have it both ways. I'd like a comment on this.----MD

Everybody:

Is anyone interested in starting some kind of online listing of Chinese-origin foods and vitamins so that we can communicate with the distributors and/or boycott them? In my opinion, there is no reason to buy any foods or vitamins from China -- ever!

Any ideas about how we can do this? Would anyone like to set up a website to get this going?

It is my understanding that vitamins and minerals must come from food rather than be produced in factories from chemical components. That the function of a plant is to take the inorganic minerals and convert them to something usable in the human body ie.: food.Which is why we say our food must be grown on good soil to have value.

In 1914 iceberg lettuce was a food. It had 94 mg of Iron;. Today - less than .5mg. Sad, eh? It's a crime that we do not understand the nature of what's needed to fuel our bodies.

China has had a good record (in the past) of preserving soil (the basic necessity for growing good food). See 40 Years of Soil Management (a book - I forget the author).

I eat a concentrated food based on the 5 elements and get plenty of good nutrition every day. However, one must find such a source and pay good money for good food. It's just the way it is. susanjustice2007@yahoo.com.

This information is so infuriating in light of the Bush Administration's efforts to dare to bar us from buying our pharmaceuticals from Canada or England because we couldn't be guaranteed purity of a product from outside our own borders! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

I beg to differ with the statement made by the good Dr. that the US does not require country of origin markings on food, vitamins, and supplements. CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) title 19, section 134.11, Sub part B states quite specifically " every article of foreign origin shall be marked in a conspicuous place as legibly, indelibly, and permanently as the nature of the article (or container) will permit, in such a manner to inticate to an ultimate purchaser in the US the English name of the country or origin of the article, at the time of importation into the customs territory of the US..." The FDA and the USDA have additional control of of vitamins and food stuffs, but they do not supercede this regulation. If you find a product on shelf without a country of origin marking, report it to your nearest customs office. It will be investigated and corrected. If in doubt of this regulation, call your nearest customs office, and they will advise. Or got to Customs website--www.cbp.gov.

I am certainly not shocked about any of this. I have suffered from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue since 2001 and have tried so many vitamins with no results what-so-ever. I've tried the GNC brands, Wal-Mart brands, you name it, I tried it. None of them would absorb into my body. It was a HUGE waste of my money, especially since I was no longer able to work.

My whole body is so depleted of energy that I am not able to get all the vitamins I need from my food, but after reading all your comments, I may not be missing much there either. But, a few years ago, I found a wonderful privately owned wellness company that manufactures household and personal care products with safer ingredients. They also manufacture some very high quality vitamins and supplements.

In doing my own research about how stress and toxins were related to my illness and many others, I became a customer and since I switched out all the household and personal products that I used to use with toxic ingredients and started using their vitamins and supplements. They have helped me tremendously and I am feeling much better. With some moderation, I have been able to resume some of the things I used to enjoy. I know without these vitamins and supplements, I would still be in bed with NO energy at all!

There are good vitamins out there, just do your research before you purchase.

first... vitamins are denatured... they are not raw and living... try planting a vitamin in the ground.. will it grow.. no!... it wont.
on blindguru.com... they tell you why vitamins are not good..
also.. we do get all the vitamins in our foods.. but..not the type of foods we eat. we will never get the vitamins in brocoli.. spinach.. and other cultivars.. yes.. cultivars... e ven if they are organic.. it doesnt matter.

First, everything made in china is crap. Years ago the vit. c, calcium, etc had high levels of lead. And they are preparing too attack us, as in the book their gov. wrote years ago explaining how they will do it. One is blowing up our satellites, which we now know they are capable of. Even nostradamous said they will blow up our platforms in they sky 185 cubits high.

Second, get it straight, alot of cheap inorganic vitamins do absorb.

Take a B3 and wait half an hour.

Vit. C raises the blood plasma level of c. Linus Pauling said body sees all c same chemically.

Magnesium ionized calm is a godsend for anxiety and muscle twitches

Take a B1 or B2 and see how long the yellow makes it thru your urinary tract.

Sure can overdose on cheap old vit A and D

Calcium absorbs depending on which type it is.

Zinc sure gets rid of my white fingernail specks.

That said, im getting away from inorganic vits and minerals. Maybe even though absorb into the blood stream (the capsules that dissolve, not tablets), maybe they hurt the inner cells or something?

Ive been switching too fermented vitamins grown in culture and then changes into organic vitamins grown in vermont.

The wheat grasses and barley are grown in rich soil, unlike the southern here in fl. lacking selenium.

I also juice, but not enough.

Although we should get all our nutrients from food we eat, it is almost impossible for my wife and I to currently get all nourishment we need from food.
We drive a truck and are unable to carry enough food to last the entire time we are out. We try to avoid the worst food but even so we do not get the proper nutrition.
It would be nice to find a good "natural vitamin/mineral supplement" to help make the difference up till we are able to get off the truck. Any suggestions?
It is sad to know it is next to impossible to get nutritious food if you travel.
We know of some wild plants to eat yet are afraid to pick and eat any for fear of poison. I am seriously thinking of reducing the over population of some birds.
