Is it good for you or isn't it? If you've been on our website for a while, you know I've been a strong advocate of raw milk.
I'm from Pune - India, In india we can get row milk quiet easily as there are many small "gothas" as they call small farms (not actually farms but places where thery keep some cows / bufallows & mikl them).

What worries me is that they do not actually have farms with good quality grass to feed the cattl. The cattle either feed on what ever is available in and arround the city or if they are luckay the owners will get them sugar cane remains from rear by villages.

I've been adviced not to have milk products except curds & butter milk as I "may" be having intollerance to lactose (reason my gastroantrologist gave for the IBS i'm sufering from).

I'm going to try using raw milk any way.

But raw milk comes from small local farms with very bad hygienic conditions and without any kind of control from the government. The milk is normally sold in bottles previously used for water and washed by the farmers themselves.
Since the only option for me to use the milk is by heating it first in high temperature at my place, I was wondering if this will have the same damaging effects as when the milk is pasteurized in specialised factories.
I would very much like to switch from pasteurized to raw milk but I'm worried about the heating effects, so please give a suggestion.

re: Is Raw Milk Right For You?

Does anyone know where you can get raw dairy products around Cincinnati, OH? I am open to cow, goat, sheep... I'm just not having any luck locating it on my own!

re: Is Raw Milk Right For You?

I've got a question: We get raw milk from my husband's family's dairy farm, but it is not pasture-fed. The cows are healthy and compared to a farm my husband works on part-time (not affiliated with his family's) who uses BGH, higher mastitis and is fed a "richer feed" (i.e. more corn) where the cows get twisted stomachs. I asked my alternative care MD her opinion but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. It is saving us a lot of money. For a while I didn't accept drinking this milk until I came onto Dr. Mercola's site and saw all the reasons raw milk was better. We know my husband's family farm milk is BGH-free, has a high hay content in their feed too so that's gotta count for something. My husband would be offended if I went off and found raw milk elsewhere, I think there's a risk-benefit there (with the impact a happy marriage has on your health, too).

re: Is Raw Milk Right For You?

I was brought up in Trinidad&Tobago and came to Canada 37 yrs ago. I have read about some with Pasteurized Milk.

My wife found this old artilce http://www.cbcrp.org/research/PageGrant.asp?grant_id=107
that says not to drink Raw Milk and does talk about a link to Breast Cancer. We don't know whether or not she should drink raw milk or is she putting herself at greater risk of a reoccurrence if she does.

We have a great local source for Raw Milk and just started drinking it, but my wife has now stopped until we can found out what that risks are.
