I was just researching something else and came across this article. First of all, why isn't it on national news and all over the front page of newspapers? If the FDA is going to take action, you know it has to be bad. Of course, they aren't recalling what's already been purchased or currently on store shelves. Figures. Basically, the FDA is going to not allow shipments of 5 different types of farm raised seafood from China.

I agree with Dr. Mercola about fish not typically being a healthy choice when eating out, but don’t understand why Dr. Mercola referenced eating raw fish in sushi places as a tendency to lesson factors of toxicity in fish, unless cooking somehow increases toxicity. Where this seems contrary is tuna with its high contamination factor is one of the meats of choice that is usually consumed in sushi bars. With this in mind, raw or cooked, I would think the healthy choice is to attempt avoiding such meats… maybe safer to graze the bean sprout salad.

If we are going to say all these things about China, let's also talk about the politicians who let these trade agreements with China. The US hasn't had a problem with keeping an embargo with Cuba...so it's not communism the problem but rather the power of numbers. When did McDonalds start opening its doors in China...I'll venture to say that's when we started to see more products from China on our shelves. Let's not forget the world history of using cheap labor and slavery; it's not only China.

For those out there with a compulsion to study history, or those who lived long enough to remember it, the United States went through some weirdness with Japan before World War II

We became trading partners with Japan, buying vast amounts of Japanese goods, much of it basically garbage, and selling them a lot of steel, machine tools and other things that they used to build the Japanese war machine to attack us.

One of the major triggers to this Pearl Harbor attack is that the United States became concerned about the Japanese use of imported goods to build their war machine, and about the fact that we were getting very liitle back in value in the Japanese goods, and this restriction of trade infuriated the Japanese government.

Now we are buying massive amounts of cheap toxic goods from China, while they buy our steel, machine tools and other goods to build their war machine, which they have already said in books that they intend to use to attack us.

Now that the public is becoming aware that China is selling a lot of lethal food and toxic goods, there is building a pressure to retaliate by stopping the buying of Chinese goods.

The Chinese have already stated that they would take any moves against them in the economic and trade area as a act of war, so it appears that history is about to pull a Santana on us, and we are about to repeat history with a vengence.

I wonder where they intend to hit us? Gives me the shivers.

Everybody:

Is anyone interested in starting some kind of online listing of Chinese-origin foods and vitamins so that we can communicate with the distributors and/or boycott them? In my opinion, there is no reason to buy any foods or vitamins from China -- ever!

Any ideas about how we can do this? Would anyone like to set up a website to get this going?

I would like to know which fish are being farmed in this matter so I know which to avoid. I always look buy wild salmon and avoid "atlantic" which is farmed. Anyone know these polluted fish?

I eat a lot of fish 4 times a week I always make sure it is wild catha my
favorite is salmon, hailbut, orange ruffe I never eat fish from Chine or
Mexico I still catch my own. I love shrimp but am having trouble finding
wild shrimp.

Wow. What a story. Just another reason I avoid food from China and eat only two types of fish - Alaskan Salmon and Tilapia.

With the isles of every store flooded with contaminated food products made in china, I wonder about the other ones. Think they might be putting some sort of highly toxic chemical on furniture that bleeds off so we breath it? The same for electronics, putting out a pulse wave or frequency that disrupts thoughts and actions which impairs the nervous system and messes up our cells so they cannot function at all? Think they are doing this just for the means of building up their military arsenal equal to or exceeding ours here so they can rule the world and the outerspace around it with the fear of nuclear threats, or are they just trying to poison us off so they can be the most powerful nation on earth? Sooner or later a nation runs out of room and resources and has to look elsewhere to dwell and prosper. It's obvious that our fearless leaders are not going to do anything about it, so I agree with laserman, let's all NOT BUY anything made in china-do without until they once again start making it here, thus assuring once again our job security.

I truly do wish that all of the good ole U.S. citizens would take a certain comment seriously that a man stated over 2,000 years ago--THOSE WHO HAVE EYES LET THEM SEE!
