I have an idea!!!!.... Instead of marketing dangerous drugs to fat people, let's eliminate the SOURCE of obesity! Hmmm...let's say we start with McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, KFC, etc. Then let's move on to sodas and everything else that contains high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, sodium benzoate and other chemicals that we can't even pronounce. Then we can phase out all processed foods that contain things like, say....MSG, maltodextrin, autolyzed yeast extract and all those sister additives disguised as "other natural flavors"!!!! And how about trans fats and artificial colorings?
What's left you ask? Gee, I dunno...only nutritious whole foods like non GMO certified organic fruits, vegetables and whole grains, unpasteurized milk products, eggs from free range hens, organically raised beef and chicken, and non-farm raised fish. Raw almonds, nuts, legumes...let's get creative. Whoa...but what's for desert? There are plenty of treats that can be derived from good dark chocolate and organically derived flours. Ice cream can be made from raw milk...there's peanut butter, honey, stevia and xylitol to help sweeten and flavor such foods.
Or would it just be easier and more profitable to give us yet another "miracle" pill? If it drives a few people to commit suicide, so what? It's for the greater good! Bottom line is, where there's a profit to be made, big pHARMa will be there!

If you can find it read the comic strip "Bizarro" by Dan Piraro in todays paper--it is sadly funny. the caption says, FDA Training, and there is a man pictured like a teacher at a blackboard pointing to words on it "drug approval" as he is saying, "Just 3 simple rules, folks: 1. It must work. 2. it must be safe. 3. It must not be "fun.", Then the cartoon balloon says, "of course, there's wiggle room on 1 & 2.

I am sorry. I am one of these "obese" people the government would like to eliminate. I want to tell you that I have been following Mercola's program for 3 months now. I am down 36lbs, my clothes fit better, and MOST IMPORTANTLY I FEEL GREAT.

I am not new to the dieting world. When I was about 20 I went to an Endocrinologist at Northwestern University here in Chicago. They started me out with Redux... (taken off the market) and anything I ate, came right back up. I felt lousy. They put me on the infamous Phen-Phen. It did nothing, and I happened to stumble upon an article in the BBW magazine (a publication promoted to plus-sized women concentrating on fashion) and at the back of the magazine they had an article about Phen-Phen and Cardio Pulmonary Heart Failure. (It boils down to the patient being on this drug combo, and the drug combo causing heart/lung damage and the patient needing a heart/lung transplant to live.) I took the article into the doctor, and she said that it was unusual for this to happen, and for me the BENEFITS OUTWEIGH THE RISKS.

Please, anyone out there that the BENEFITS DO NOT OUTWEIGH THE RISKS. Please, if you are struggling with weight, PLEASE, consider Mercola's plan. You can fix your life with the right nutrition. It really is that simple. Don't ever lose hope, because the next "diet" you try may be the right one. I am so determined this is the answer that I am going back to school for nutrition. Give this plan a try, I cannot tell you how good I feel, and what hope and inspiration it has given me! :)

Does anyone but me think that it is weird that 14% of the test subjects also had depression, anxiety and insomnia and they were on the PLACEBO?
Can anyone say, Professional Subjects? Some have full-tim jobs and make $30K/year flying around to different studies. If not, what could account for that high rate besides other medications, processed foods and a typical American unhealthy diet/lifestyle?

Acomplia is Sanofi-Aventis new cannabinoid receptor drug, and like any synthetic brain chemistry and brain receptor manipulation substance has the potential to seriously mess you up. It is probably highly addictive too.

The only trial with free full text was funded by Sanofi-Aventis, the data collection and trimming, sorry ‘analysis’ was done by Sanofi-Aventis, the company was ‘permitted’ to review the manuscript but the final decision on content was made by the lead author who also coincidentally receives large bribes, sorry ‘honoraria’ from Sanofi-Aventis. Gee, doh, must be really unbiased then.

DO THESE THIEVES AND LIARS THINK WE ARE ALL STUPID?

Very few of the medications treat the causes of disease today. They just treat the symptoms. If they actually treated the causes people would be able to stop taking medications and not have side effects from the medication they are taking.

None of these drugs address the problem of why so many people are over-weight today. I heard about a new OTC weight-loss drug called "Alli" and the marketing being put together for this product is unbelievable. The more that people, like those of us who are members of the Vital Votes community, can spread the truth about what is really in our food supply and help people find good resources of organic food and non-toxic products, the more likely we will begin to see some real progress in this area.

Considering the FDA, on a daily basis, it would seem, is approving harmful, if not deadly drugs, for prescription or OTC sale, I think it a smart move if Dr. Jack Kevorkian, recently out of jail, become a public service announcement spokesperson for Uncle Sam.

After all, both's goals seem aligned, in the unsuspecting general public, OFFING themselves, with a little help through chemistry.

Things like this make one conger up a Sci-fi horror film of an evil empire doing things behind the scenes just to revel in the fact that they have caused death, destruction, and hardship!

(After an evil laugh with plenty of reverb) : "The evil empire has final played it’s deadly hand after combining forces with another dark empire and now with years of coldly calculated research into just how to set up the final death blow, we wait!"

But alias! It is just a bunch of low class greedy thugs in a little street gang called the FDA who have been suckered into to pushing drugs for the guys who are “holding the bag” Hmmm....... Another movie is coming to mind!
