Interesting as the use of English IS responsible for many accidents in the air and on the sea...!!!

The solution would be for ALL to learn Esperanto, the easiest international language for everyone, whereas Chinese, English or Arab.

But the comments miss the point of the need for English speakers

to also learn other people's languages.

The result will probably be second rate status in the future world of bilinguals for those that thought that to impose their language to mankind was the way...

The lecture "Watershed of words" also is OK.

What a great example of communication gap!
I think of how many conversations that are not cross cultural or language that have the same results.

Everday, people commit suicide, families break up, or wars kill thousands, because we do not understand the "Maydays" that cross our paths on a daily basis.

It's easy to laugh at this, we presume it was staged, but how funny would it be if we or our loved ones were truely calling "Mayday".

What are you thinking about? This was a complete waste of my time. It has nothing to do with health or nutrition, which is why I recieve your newsletter. I do not find it amusing. I do not find commercials amusing, nor do I find the idea of innocent life potentially lost funny.

Love the humour - well intentioned guy - albeit off centre.
I wonder how many of us don't really hear what someone (with our same language) is saying to us. We miss things at times hearing what fits us. Sometimes, later I realize that I didn't comment on something that was likely of importance to the speaker.

This was a great video. Brought up all those phone calls for tech help I have made over the years, talking to someone in New Dehli or Shanghai. Even with resorting to spelling, sometimes we just couldn't connect. We even pronounce the letters of the alphabet differently. Slightly dark humor, but funny nonetheless.

I thought that video was funny--must be one of those perception things.

Reminds me of the old blind man. The health care practioner came to his house and told him he was going to get an immunization shot in the rear-end. But the practioner ran down the road when the old blind man grabbed his shotgun and--Ka-boom. A neighbor saw what happened and ran to the old man's house. Old man, you shot that guy in the be-hind. The old blind man said--yeeeeep, that's a what I was a aim'n fer!
