Recently (August 2008) the FDA came out with a statement that these bottles are perfectly fine and the chemical in them is harmless. Personally, I think that anyone who believes the FDA about ANYTHING is in danger. Most likely the uproar about plastic food containers has the food lobby ticked off and they paid the FDA some huge bucks to get the public off their back. It would cost them a fortune to stop using plastic. I wonder when Dr. Mercola will comment on this.

The new threat now with the Similac Brand of infant formula is that someone has taken expired cans and have put an adhesive label on the cans which shows it product number and expiry date. This is how you can tell the real ones, is because it is actually stamped on the can. Health Canada first heard about this in May 07 and just issued a warning to consumers about the health risks which have up until now occured in Quebec and Ontario.

What happened to breast feeding babies and forgetting the bottles altogether? Really its sad when small babies are fed warm fortified powdered cows milk from a toxic bottle made a couple of thousands of kms away from home by cheap labor in the most profit making way. Its amazing that you can purchase this mass produced rubbish in any local pharmacy by trusted professional health staff and also pick them up at the local supermarket. If products were manufactured locally and we were not so caught up in the global junk market then the babies might be fed out of some type of non toxic container such as an old fashioned glass one!

Klean Kanteen stainless steel sippy cups. I threw all my plastic sippy cups away. I bought them at reusablebags.com.

This is scarry. My daughter can no longer breastfeed and is currently using Dr. Brown's bottles as they help reduce the amount of air intake. I will talk to her about repalcing them. My question now is, even with glass bottles, the baby is sucking on plastic nipples. What could replace them? The baby is only 11 weeks old, so drinking from a glass is out of the question for awhile!!!!

Another Good reason to breast feed your baby. It is becoming harder to find glass baby bottles.

Again, it boils down to cheaper manufacturing for these $$$$ hungry, do NOT care about our sweet new generation. Nor do they care about anyones health and well-being.

I raised my babies using glass containers only,not plastic. In those days,glass was highly recommended . But then, plastic was not popular in those days. People were afraid of plastic and did not trust this new invention, until, THEY advertised all of their lies and got away with this propaganda.

Please send this article to anyone you know that is using a bottle to feed their babies.

Breastfed babies are blessed. It is too bad there are people who get offended when a mother throws a blanket over her shoulder and tries to nurse her baby in public. It seems society causes mothers to feel uncomfortable about nursing their babies. So sad!
