in their own convictions. Remember the reason we are Americans is that we have freedom of choice. The freedom to choose what types of foods we eat and the freedom to express our opinions.
If you choose not to eat meat, then that is your choice, however, if you choose not to eat meat because it's cruelty to animals, that opens up another chapter in life. If you have never watched any progrmas on life on earth, you should... because life on earth has a balance of it's own. Animals provide the food resources not only for humans, but also for their own survival. So let's look at the simple facts. The earth provides food for everyone, not just humans, it provides a balance between the species. Watch "Planet Earth" and you will see what makes our world unique.
But it is your "choice" to eat whatever you want. So, if you have a choice of eating natural foods that were introduced to us long ago, or something manufactured, what would you choose?
Good honest farmers across America have had to resort to conditions that they would normally never resort to.,only to survive.
What happens to our food source if every farmer in the US decides they don't want to be farmers anymore, and their heirs want to go into computers? Who's going to suuply the food we need, the government?
who regulates growth hormones and pesticides....
We need to take a stand now...we need more organic foods on the market so we can support the farmers of America who realy care about our health.

re: Are You Sabotaging Your Food by Overheating It During Cooking?

I am still reseahing whether of not certain foods should be eaten raw or cooked. I've been slow cooking for years in my slow cooker. Here's a tip for range top cooking if you have a gas range. I found the lowest setting for the flame (just enough to keep it from extinguishing) was too hot to simmer things like a good soup pot, for a long time, without causing the soup to stick to the bottom of the pot. What I did was, stack two of the individual grates on one burner and that lifted the pot a bit higher off the flame, letting it simmer at a much lower temperature. The result is soup or stew very much like what you would get in a slow cooker.

re: Are You Sabotaging Your Food by Overheating It During Cooking?

Given the fact that you boast an international readership of over a million subscribers is would now seem appropriate to use the international standards of measure within your articles. The use of the Farenheight scale for temperature is now outmoded and used by a minority of the worlds population (of which the USA is a part), the scientific community and the bulk of the worlds population are using Celcius as the standard. But it doesn't end there, because most of the nutrition and all the enzymes have been destroyed, it takes a lot of energy to digest plus you need to eat 3-6 times more before feeling full since there's barely any nutrition left, this causes both obesity and nutritional deficiencies. Additionally, 99% of things people cook become carcinogenic and the fats turn to trans fat, which makes most cooked food cause cancer and heart disease, which are the 2nd and 3rd leading causes of death after conventional medicine. Wouldn't you think people would stop cooking their food when it makes it cause the 2nd and 3rd leading cause of death?

I'll stick with my raw diet, thank you. For those who enjoy paying high price for nutritious food and then high price to destroy that food, go right ahead! But don't whine about high energy bills, being fat, sick or if you end up with cancer or heart disease, cooking food is a ridiculous thing to do with ridiculous health consequences.

re: Are You Sabotaging Your Food by Overheating It During Cooking?

Most cooking causes the formation of acrylamides, a known carcinogen. Anything with carbs and fat will form acrylamides as well as all animal products when cooked. Every meat forms acrylamides when cooked, which is probably why study after study shows that even just one small portion of meat per week is enough to DOUBLE your chances of getting most cancers, and that's if it's eaten only once a week, imagine those who eat it 4, 5 or more times a week! I also heard a doctor say, but this not see the science on this but I'm pretty sure she was referencing a study, I'd have to check, that a charcoal grilled steak has as many as one carcinogenic chemical as smoking 600 cigarettes.

Also anything that's fried becomes highly carcinogenic and forms trans fats (most fats will turn to trans fat with most types of cooking). My diet is 90-95% raw and I definately feel much better when I eat raw food, even if it's the same food raw VS. cooked. Any cooking, even very low temperature will also destroy 100% of the enzymes which normally make the food self-digest, but if you eat your food cooked your body has to generate the enzymes you destroyed by cooking the food, the energy needed to digest 3 cooked meals a day is as much as 8 hours of heavy labour. When you eat your food raw, the only way it's supposed to be eaten, it self-digests and doesn't waste tons of energy digesting denatured "food". Additionally, when eating cooked food you must eat 3-6 times more before you feel full due to the mostly destroyed nutrition, and you'll still suffer from nutritional deficiencies and calorie excess due to the cooking. Dr Mercola as well as many other well informed doctors recommend a minimum of 50% raw food in your diet, with 100% being the ideal.

re: Are You Sabotaging Your Food by Overheating It During Cooking?

HOW DID MERCOLA GET BRIDGIT JONES TO DO HIS VIDEOS.

re: Are You Sabotaging Your Food by Overheating It During Cooking?

Excellent idea.
