Goddess38, your Jewish leaders are no more truly Jewish than the leaders among Christians are truly Christian, but that fact does not indicate, much less prove, that God does not exist or that we have been magically rendered incapable of rightly relating ourselves to our Creator as individuals. We can read the Scriptures for ourselves, interpret them for ourselves and live by the principles of Scripture without their "help." I am a Christian theologian and have been doing that very thing for many years. My God opposes those incredibly corrupt people more than we do because He knows the extent of their wickedness far better than we ever could. But God didn't create us or them as robots. We are all free to obey or disobey God as we freely choose.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight is a cute song, but most people don't realise that it began as a Zulu song called "Mbube" (lion) recorded in 1939 by Solomon Linda and his group The Evening Birds. "Wimoweh" was what Pete Seeger heard, but the isiZulu word was actually "uyimbube" meaning "You are a Lion".

According to Pete Seeger, who first covered the song in 1952, the song refers to a Zulu legend about the greatest of the Zulu Kings, Shaka (the Lion) that he didn't die, but went to sleep and will wake up some day.

It took many decades and a lot of effort on the part of documentary makers and journalists before Solomon Linda's heirs were finally paid the royalties that he should have received for his composition.

Solomon Linda died in poverty and Abilene Music (the current copyright owner) went on to earn an estimated $15 million for Disney's use of the song in The Lion King alone. Eventually, after all the publicity, Abilene Music settled with Solomon Linda's family in February 2006 for an undisclosed amount.

The other video which was posted by Dr. Mercola completely correlates to my comments about population control which I posted last night. It is more imporant to keep the status quo, especially if it feeds off the misery of the masses, and more important not to lose jobs, no matter how miserable and outdated, than it is to keep a safe and healthy environment in the world. Just keep the idiots (you and me) busy or sick and in continuous debt, and, if that's not possible, then kill us off. The final solution remains the best solution.

Be sure to look at the first of the Related Articles - Be Entertained For Hours With This Animation. You could truly spend hours playing with it. When you click the circles in the lower left it not only changes the number of points of origin but the pattern they make as you move your mouse over the screen. If you click your mouse while you swirl it makes even more changes.

This is one of the greatest pop songs of all time, and I have always felt like dancing whenever I hear it. Now I have danced to it by proxy, and it was tons of fun. The dog is pretty good as we old professional dancers go, but his rhythm is sometimes just a tad off. However, it can be said without fear of contradiction that he dances better than my dog, Pinky, and I'm sure with practice he'll improve. I gave him lots of practice tonight, and I thought I observed his timing get a little sharper. Buuuuut......maybe not.

Cute video! This song really takes me back to 4th grade when we had early morning before-school 'sockhops' in the gym on Fridays - just bring your own roller skates and 45's.
The songs I remember are this one, 'Killing Me Softly', 'The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia', 'Angie', plus anything by the Osmonds, Partridge Family or Jackson 5. ^_^
