I had lasik 10 years ago. I really needed it because my vision was so bad (-8). I had to wear thick coke bottom glasses for one week before the operation. I started wearing glasses when I was 8 then I got contacts when I was about 13. My biggest problem with contacts was during allergy season which for me was spring and early fall. My eyes would be so bloodshot everyone thought I was a pothead in high school. Also I liked to surf & ski and I would lose them all the time. Ever try skiing down a mountain with one eye or ride a motorcycle hoping the other one dosen't move too. Most people tend to go farsighted as they get older which means you will need reading glasses. My doctor told me he had only 2 people out of 400 who had any problems so that was a .5% rate, and that was 10 years ago. Just be careful and research the doctors before you get it done.

How about nutritionally improving one's eye sight, and then physical exercises of the eyes before going off on dangerous and evasive cutting or vaporization methodology?

While I could manage the one eye for distance and one eye for close vision, I know it is not for everybody. It just worked for me. Reeseacat,
I agree..... I would not have had both eyes done at the same time.

This is interesting because optometrists have been accomplishing the same goals with contacts for years. I would still be wary, even though there are many satisfied customers, of letting someone cut into my eye. There are also many very unhappy victims of surgeries gone wrong.

Bottom line, work with all the alternatives first. Many have totally restored their vision using alternative therapies. Dr. Mercola has offered a system called the Bates Method that many people have found very effective. Wouldn't it make sense to try something that absolutely cannot harm you before opting for surgery, which carries so many irreversable risks?

I had lasik surgery in one eye several years ago to correct my distance vision. It was the greatest thing I ever did. Being in the 50's bracket, I did lose my close vision and would love correction for it in the other eye.
I know the risks etc, but I am really happy with the results. I honestly can't say at this point I regret the decision.

This would be a good start to discuss the problems with Lasix surgery, the side effects, and other alternatives to surgery.

I get very twitchy with "elective" eye surgery, especially on both at the same time. What if something goes wrong and you end up blind?

Best to remove all conventional, anything, and listen, work-with our universal mother. She knows, and it works best for all.
