BigEdd, I’m not so convinced by the olive oil – HIV article. It hasn’t even been published so it’s impossible to know how much the mice were given – would the human equivalent be to eat 3000 olives per day? I don’t think HIV causes AIDS anyway so it’s a moot point. Now if someone could come up with something that would actually stop people from dying from AIDS, as opposed to tinkering with ‘viral replication’ and CD4 cell counts I’d be really impressed.

HIV has never been isolated or proven to exist, let alone cause anything. Why would a virus infect 1% of the US population and 30% of some African countries? Why would a virus cause different symptoms depending on your age, gender, race or sexual orientation and geographic location? Why hasn't 20 years worth of research and billions of dollars spent created a vaccine or cure or safe and effective treatment? Why do the pharmaceutical companies, AIDS Industry and government agencies censor the scientists, doctors and laypeople that raise these critical questions and provide reasonable answers? I take olive leaf capsules to help my chronic fatigue. They seem to be helping and be giving me a bit more energy than I previously had on other things.

There is a book titled "Wild Fermentation" written by Sandor Ellix Katz who has been living with HIV/AIDS since the 80s. He claims the fermentated foods he makes and consumes have strengthened his body against the horrific disease that has killed so many. I bought the book to learn about fermenting foods. Although I am not crazy about the book because it has comments regarding the lifestyle he has chosen, his story is definitly a testimony to the foods he consumes.

I am disappointed that this sort of research and development doesn't occur in the U.S. However, I am glad it happens somewhere. It is always good to hear that the natural healing powers of plants are being explored. The drug cocktails currently given to HIV positive individuals are not great in my opinion, so an alternative like this would be wonderful.
