I think my dad hit it on the head when he said it depends on the type of person you are. If you are basically a happy person, you will be happy. If you are a miserable person, you will be miserable. Money will not change that. Sure you would be happy at first, but if you are a miserable type, you will find a way to slink back into miserableness.

I myself am generally always happy. Went unemployed for nearly a year after 9/11 with a 6 month old newborn and forced to move in with my mother-in-law, was I upset? Heck no! I got to spend that special time helping raise my son during the precious 1st year of life. What could have been better?

Once I got a job offer again in Florida, it ended up being a position that was providing less than 30 hrs. a week! Mad? Nope. More time with my family. Sure money was tight, but we made it and made the most of it.

Would I be happier with 300 mil. sitting in the bank? Oh heck yeah!

I think money amplifies what is already there. If you are miserable, as a rule, that is what you are going to be, unless you learn to change your personality/behavior. Get some EFT to deal with issues or whatever you can to better yourself.

Some people are just happy being miserable though. :P

Mind you, I'm not advocating being happy while being mugged or while getting a leg sawed off. There are situations that call for a few moments of sadness/heartache. But moving on is the key. Find the good in the bad. Make the most of whatever situation you are in.

Give me $300 million and I am sure I could increase my happiness. I could afford to take my wife to see Mercola and some of the specialists for her conditions. Help more people that are down on their luck. Save more abused animals.

As it stands though, I will be happy regardless.

Money earned has much more perceived value than money won. Or than money inherited for that matter. I love earning and spend what I earn on the basic necessities; shelter, clothing, food, and transportation. What is left over from what I have earned, I either save, invest, or give my family a treat.

I'd rather earn and spend millions than win it on the lottery. I have never played the lottery, and don't intend to start any time in the forseeable future. There is no such thing as something for nothing. There are always strings attached.

People always want something they don't have and then to find out it doesn't after all give you happiness. Happiness is not the material possessions one has. Look at the celebreties. Why are so many on drugs and unhappy with their life? This story tells you one simple thing about life...Happiness is found within yourself.

Although we always hear about the people who make a mess of things after winning, there must be people who succeed and do right with the money, although in a quick search I didn't find anything but negative stories. Good things aren't news anymore anyway.

I believe that money only amplifies a current condition.
There is a program on T.V. called The curse of the lottery.
It highlights people who's lives became a mess not because of the money, but they made some crazy choices with the presence of the money; drugs, driving recklessly in nice cars, ignoring their children....
