MRSA is EVERYWHERE. My Mom died in August after a battle from early May after surgery. "Best" hospital in RI, but got MRSA and C Diff.
Never stood a chance....sadly the little red warnings were on more patient doors than I could count.
I'd say this infection is reaching epidemic levels in hospitals and nursing homes. Obviously poor hygiene practices start right in the OR..had to be where mom got the MRSA or immediately after...she was in Intensive Care..so came from within hospital.
It is scary stuff, but I think we can be too relient on these soaps too in our everyday lives.....need to have some resistance too....that is why these staphs are resistant to meds...we are creating super strains..
I guess it's a big vicious circle now.

About four years ago, my son had a staph infection from surgery to repair four broken bones in his foot. They put him on all kinds of antibotics and ever since then he has had acid reflux, acne, and gained a lot of weight. He had only been on antibotics once before then as a child for bronchitis.

I just saw a hand spray by Burt's Bees that is mostly witch hazel, & something else (sorry, i've forgotten). I haven't purchased it yet, but think i will. I have purell in my office for when i can't get to the washroom but need to clean my hands. But i've wanted to replace it, & this may be a good alternative.

On the reason for the large spread of MRSA, the post Dr. Mercola has with several video parts on GM/GE items mentions a possible reason: Several GM/GE items are developed not only to have a "natural" or innate pesticide, but several are also developed to resist antibiotics. The gentleman said that the GM/GE scientists claim that these characteristics are said to be deactivated by digestion, but they have found that it isn't so. This was almost a throw-away line in his talk, but very significant.

Curious about this, i did an online search. One site stated that MRSA was seen in the early sixties, but was rare. It began being a real problem in the late 80s & early 90s, & now, as this states is even seen in schools. If the GM/GE connection is accurate, then people are factories for MRSA in their digestive tracts from consuming these items. What does a school cafeteria serve but processed foods?

A bigger reason to make more people aware of the GM/GE danger.

Reescat is correct, Hydrogen Peroxide 2% solution, generic, non toxic, effective, low cost and no putting money into the hands of P&G who probably cooked up this hysteria to sell their non effective soap brands...

Here in Dallas, everyone is flipping out over this.
I have never seen so much PURELL anti-bacterial hand rub before!
What are some of your thoughts on Purell?
GOOD? BAD? Does it help? Is it dangerous?
Please advise.
