I've only been at mercola.com since June, but nothing surprises me anymore. I'd been on Coumadin (yes, rat poison) after getting blood clots in my lungs in 1998. They discovered I have a genetic clotting disorder and said I had to take it the rest of my life. Well, once I started eating "whole foods" with lots of green veggies and drinking kefir (both have lots of Vit K) my blood levels remained non-therapeutic. They finally doubled my dose and I got really really sick, so did some research, took a deep breath, called the doc and said NO MORE COUMADIN!!! I'm managing with garlic, Vit E, ginseng and Fish Oil and I have NO fear of getting anymore clots. I know this is working anytime I cut myself, lol. Dr. Gussa, I wasn't aware of the Dan Shen, gonna have to look into that!

How stupid!!!
I have tried and tried to get my point to MDs about two real drugs (Yes folks the real drugs are plant drugs from the German word Drugha meaning derived from a plant)

Anyway, These two drugs (or herbs) are Tian Qi and Dan Shen.

Tian Qi is army issue in Asia because It will stop bleeding without clotting! Used for bullet wounds by pouring the powder on the open wound. It redirects the blood away from the opening and can even help push the bullet to the surface!

It saved my but once when a saw tooth from a spinning saw blade hit me in the forehead like a bullet! It stoped the bleading and pulled the metal tooth out the next day! (I did not know it was still in me!)

It does give a very then sort of "clot" at the opining of the wound but it will distribute the blood to where it is needed and brake up stagnation and unnecessary clots where they are not needed! This facor is always dis-belived by BS (Bad Science) Doctors!

Now if you need to “thin” the blood and really “tune up the heart” while you are at it, you need Dan Shen! NOT RAT POISION!!!

I have loads of info about these two herbs available but room is not at all big enough here.
