Water, water everywhere - but not a drop to drink!

The water authorities know that chlorine is a carcinogen, yet they also know that nobody will be able to prove that they contracted cancer from water they drank years ago.

Yet - they also realize that they can be could be open to liability if they don't provide "safe" water...and a salmonella outbreak traced to the water, where people get sick at the same time, can be quickly traced back to "unsafe" water.

So they will dump much more chlorine into the supply, to achieve their short term objective, and throw a blind eye to contaminating the water to the detriment of people's long term health.

I wonder where the nearest feedlot is... or an overcrowded chicken farm, etc. That area of CO is ranch intensive.

Isn't the very point of the chemicals in tap water to prevent things like this from happening? Easy way to avoid the all the controversy with tap water is to stay away from it. The very taste of tap water itself should tell you that something is wrong with it.

I'd like to see this serves as an example that we can't irradiate and pasteurize everything,but instead this will likely get touted as another reason to dump more chemicals in our public water supply.

Water filters are a bettter idea.

That is one point for having steam distilled water.
