Our little Bernie is the light of our lives (yes, even more than the kids, he doesn't ask for money from us) :-)

The type of person who owns a cat is usually already stress free and low risk of heart disease. So do they own cats because of low stress, or do cats lower their stress.

I suspect the figure for dog owners would be similar to that of cat owners. This is not new I have seen reports of similar studies before only they usually include cat and dog owners.
