I hate to say it but if you have a lot of dead skin on your body hands, feet or whereever, i believe there's a great possibility you are SERIOUSLY LACKING OMEGA 3'S. Ever since i changed to KRILL OIL believe it or not the little dry skin on my heels vanished almost completely and it's the first summer i did'nt have ANY peeling skin from to much sun... And i'm not kidding here........Krill oil is VASTLY SUPERIOR to FISH OIL.......And a lot to be credited for is the Astaxanthin it contains - a very potent antioxidant.....

If you continue to use Fish Oil my suggestion would be to ADD some "serious" Astaxanthin, about 4 to 8 MGS to your repertoire, BUT make sure it's from a very clean and reputable source, you'd see the difference.......

Not to gross anyone out, but this reminded me of the medical therapeutic use of maggots in wounds, often for wounds or sores caused by severe diabetes. When applied, the maggots actually do a fabulous job of eating away only the dead or diseased flesh, and it turns out they help the healing process much more than any other traditional Western-medicine technique.

I wouldn't mind trying the fishies. But, despite its efficacy, you'd have to dope me into a coma for the other treatment. :O

I find this idea method of dead skin removal vulgar and horribly indecent. I love natual healing, I really do, But the thought of the fish living off of dead skin is downright nauseating. Personally, I wouldn't try it, only for the sake of the fish.

This seems awesome! Using nature like this I think is really smart and usually the best/only way to go. Hadn't heard of this before, anyway check out egoscue for helping your body, that's what i personally need help with, not hard foot skin!!

It's called Fish Spa and these tiny fishes are from Turkey. In Singapore, where I'm from, I recently saw this and almost tried it. It seemed like fun for my nieces who were also eager to try it.

These tiny fishes are supposed to love dry crusty skin like psoriasis.
For those who just have normal or rough skin, it's skin exfoliation for them. Should be quite rejuvenating for your feet.

I went with my family to a massage parlour in Malaysia and we saw a common foot bath for this fish spa. I was questioning if that foot service was a hygienic process. But not all places have common foot baths.

Imagine how it will work for the face and body!

I saw this one in action on the "Today Show" Hoda and Kathi Lee put their feet in containers of water with the tiny fish. They were literally going after Hoda's feet, but a bit shy with Kathi Lee's, for whatever reason. It looked refreshing ! However, I don't think i would pay for this treament myself.

If it were scientifically found to be safe and effective as well as cost effective... why not. Might be kinda cool to implement in foot clinics where some patients are found to have pounds of corns and callouses, many of them having diabetes, hyperhidrosis, or are on psychiatric meds (which can cause hyperkeratoses) -and many of them are guess what? -->terrified of blades and the Dremel or like sanding tool. Sure would save the doctor's time in debriding these common problem feet, while providing a safe, painfree, & comfortable experience.
