On the other side is the lead consumer coalition in the United States

re: Fight Looms on Regulation of Cosmetics

Well I for one would be happy to be labelled an "anti-chemical activist" - chemicals are to cause of most of our problems as far as I am concerned - I'd love to be totally rid of them.

The only products I use and am associated with are certified organic to food standards. The company is actually conscious, ethical and totally green. They care more for health, education and the environment than the dollar and create the purest products I have ever found. The range is extensive and covers all aspects of personal external and internal health.

I really hope that these evil empires can be brought to their knees as they are willfully poisoning people with their toxic chemicals.

re: Fight Looms on Regulation of Cosmetics

Our skin is the largest organ of our body. What we put ON our body is as important as what we put IN it. Our skin does not have the same kind of natural defense system set up as our internal organs, so when something passes through our skin into our body, it can actually have a stronger and quicker impact. Don't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't eat...and you can never go wrong. It is such a disgrace around this time of year when well intentioned people jump on the pink ribbon breast cancer awareness bandwagon not even realizing that their own products they push are actually contributing to the problem (I am talking about Avon, Mary Kay reps, etc.)...If they only knew the truth and incongruence here.

re: Fight Looms on Regulation of Cosmetics

the boys want to play, too...guyliner & manscara...Tupelo will late-adopt, I'm thinking....

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/men/article4710738.ece

re: Fight Looms on Regulation of Cosmetics

It's so hard to know who to trust anymore when it comes to our health. Many of these companies really don't care what they put into their products, as long as they make a profit. I no longer purchase any of my skincare, personal care or household products from any of these companies for that reason. The less chemicals in my home the better!

I agree with rablpn, if other countries can ban these types of chemicals in there products, why can't the US follow suit on it?

Could it be because Prevention of illness and disease is not where the money is, treatment is where the big bucks are and if we're all sick, there's an endless pot of gold for the greedy.

Just my theory.

re: Fight Looms on Regulation of Cosmetics

I can see both sides of this debate. On the one hand we all know there are cancer causing, environmental and skin polluting ingredients in these products. On the other hand, it is rarely a good idea for the government to get involved. The FDA isn't doing its job on food or drugs. What makes anyone think they can handle cosmetics? So in conclusion, Caveat Emptor and keep the government out of my life!!

re: Fight Looms on Regulation of Cosmetics

If they changed their products for the European market, why can't they sell those here?
