The cavilier way in that these drugs are given without any real understanding of the possibile side effects and the reluctance of most physicians to attibute the adverse reactions to there drugs leaves people at the mercy of drug companys and there profit motive . Real health is a positive state that is best maintained thur natural means. Good diet ;proper excercise;good mental state. At one time doctors understood that thier motto was "first do no harm. Now it seems drug first and deal with the side effects latter. I concreate rule that might help. Any new drug should have to be better than the ones already on the market.
