tyciol - did you know that one of the little known secrets in the medical world is that cancer tumors removed from patients have invariably been found to be loaded with pesticides? One good reason right there to avoid all foods not 'organically' grown.

Oh, and 'By definition, food that is certified organic must be free from all GM organisms, produced without artificial pesticides and fertilizers and from an animal reared without the routine use of antibiotics, growth promoters or other drugs.'

Would you rather have a separate label for each different way a food could have been grown? One label if it's non-GM; another label next to that one if no pesticides were used; a third label if no antibiotics, hormones or other drugs were used...

I'm glad the all-inclusive label 'Organic' is out there in use. It covers all the bases, and lets me know the food is as close to the way God intended it as possible in this wondedrful, contaminated, polluted, 21st century.

I am convinced that Monsanto are the cause of the honey bee disaster. Their new insecticdes which 'protect' the seed and young plant from pests are supposed not to have ant effect on bees. However Italian researchers have found that this insecticde pervades into the pollen. Which is then taken to the hive and fed to young bees and eaten by the bees themseves. This has been shown to affect bees - making them disorientated. And this was only from a preliminary study!! How much destruction of the natural world is this evil giant going to be allowed to get away with?

Thank God we in Europe have fought back against GM, though the introduction is slowly trying to invade.
Corporations are not people, they are unaccountable bodies whose only purpose is profit (see film "The Corporation").

Monsanto is just one of the few companies that impoverish humanity. They do so without a conscience and everyday we buy into it.
Environmental degradation, gross inequality, the health of a nation are all cast from this stone.

David Icke, Noam Chomsky, other so call conspiracy theorist; the information is out there, we just need to open our eyes before it all comes crashing down on us.

There's none so blind as those who wont see.

Just starting it now, I can already see this movie is a heavily biased documentary that attempts to dramaticize issues. Apples and farming and the good old american ways in full colour, with beads of moisture on them, and then black and white Nazi-esque videos comparing fertilizers with bombs, and nerve gas with pesticides, sending the message that "these kill people" when they are in entirely different formats. Breathing nerve gas in is an entirely different thing than altering it to make it safe for humans but deadly to bugs, coating the vegetables with it, and then washing them off before consuming them.

The anti-DDT thing has been done to death, and I must again remind you that another Google Video you posted regarding conspiracy theories had the same guy who went on about how Fluoride was poison, said DDT was perfectly safe? Why exactly are you posting videos by people with contradictory messages you do not support? Why not make partial clips of relevant sections rather than seeding entire videos of propoganda?

Saying that using pesticides required MORE pesticides is somewhat unfounded. If that occured, it was the wrong response. Instead, better spraying should have been done so that some species were exposed so little that they survived and were able to outreproduce those that didn't, rather than all dying. Species of plants (like animals) go extinct all the time regardless of man, DO NOT BLAME PESTICIDES FOR THAT. This is an attempt, like most of these movies and agendas, to pin the blame of every possible negative thing you could link with them to damage their cause, regardless of how true it is.

As for increasing costs due to higher pesticide use, odds are that it was still overall economically viable from increased production compared to organic farming otherwise they would not be used. So what's the point of mentioning increased costs? It's not as if becoming pesticide-resistant would make organic farming any harder... unless of course organic farmers also used pesticides (seen that King of the Hill episode?)

As for genetic engineering, what's the problem with it? The corn is engineered to kill the microorganisms that eat it, that's it, not us.

Patenting forms of life are fine. We consider NATURAL forms of life unpatentable, yes, but if they would not have occured in nature (or not for a good while anyway) then by creating them yourself, you have indeed invented them, becoming a god of botany anyway.

...assuming that genetic engineering companies suddenly want to enslave humans by sneaking their genes into them? Okay, I'll watch the rest but I'm done responding, you get the idea of the ridiculousness of the movie.

The article outlining the problems with the farmers unknowingly using Monsanto seeds (like Perch Schmeiser), was disturbing. Especially if the presence of the seed was caused by either natural occurences (wind) or the spraying of pesticide, manufactured by the company. One would think that the farmers would now be in a position to sue Monsanto for the cost to clean up their farm lands of Monsanto's products. As the farmers were not responsible for putting it there, the company should be responsible for removing it and replacing it with the original seed the farmer originally sowed. If a company wants to own a genetically or any kind of living organism, then they also must take full responsibility if it gets out of control and starts growing or reproducing in other environments. Nature cannot be used as an excuse for them, or they will have no responsibility for what they do.

A few cases of farmers or others going after the big companies like this would probably soon change the laws and patent laws that exist today to assist the big companies and start protecting the farmers and the rest of us.

Unfortunately Monsanto [6] is just one example of where big business and special interests have taken away the rights of the citizens of this once great nation. I often wonder why many countries outside the US hate us with a passion. When I watch videos like this and Sweet Deception I understand more clearly; our predatorial international trade practices and policies are simply extending our corruption abroad. It's entirely possible -- likely in fact -- that David Icke is right on the money regarding Monsanto. Unfortunately, Icke has soiled his reputation by espousing bizarre theories in other areas such as the reptilians from the constellation Draco who've bred with humans producing reptillian humanoids who control the world. Using Icke as a source of information will give Mercola opponents fodder to tarnish his image, unecessarily so, since there are plenty of other sources for anti-Monsanto information.

Monsanto continues to remain at the forefront of corporate America concerning crimes against humanity and media propaganda. I'm grateful for Mercola.com because it truly is the "no-spin zone" where junk-science is sifted through and tossed out. It is a known fact that GM foods wreak havoc on the immune system and internal organ integrity. Monsanto’s director of corporate communications was quoted October 25, 1998 in The New York Times stating, “Monsanto should not have to vouchsafe the safety of biotech food. Our interest is in selling as much of it as possible. A helpful video that one can find at places like, Mercola.com, or NetFlix, or your favorite local video store, is The Future of Food This documentary gives, in simple and understandable language, how bad, corrupt, and dumb-downed, most of the processed food, beverage, and pharmaceutical chain is in the USA.

I recall a few years back watching a Wednesday night edition (now canceled) segment on CBS' 60 Minutes, in which they discussed, in detail, a long term disease resistant potato Monsanto had genetically modified.

Now as any potato farmer in Idaho, or elsewhere, will tell you, "who needs long term storage" as they already have below gound cold storage cellars, not buring any fuel, that hold potatoes in dormancy just fine thank you, with little spoilage.

Well, it so happens that an independent (non Monsanto) scientist decided to conduct a simple feeding study with 2 groups of laboratory rats. One group got regular potatos, and the second group got the new GMO product from Monsanto at equal rates.

The Results? Regular expected weight gain in both groups occurred, however there was a graphic image in the TV piece of the GMO potato consuming rats, all developing 5, 6, 7, and 8 limbs, spouting and growing out of their heads, backs, necks and torsos...

Yes, folks, Monsanto cannot be trusted at all, and neither can government lower paid FDA bureaucrats, allegedly reviewing and safeguarding the food chain, to assure you of any safety in such matters.

As we literally see on a DAILY basis from the wire services, and headlines, the FDA has becoma reactive organization, at best, on recalls and side effects, in food, cosmetics, ingredients, beverages, and pharmaceutical products, long after the product has HARMED or KILLED people.

So as the ancient Roman saying suggests: "Caveat emptor" (Let The Buyer Beware!)...

Take control of your own health, ask simple logical questions, like: "Do I really need to consume something I cannot spell, let alone understand what harm it might be doing to me, my children, family, or friends?", by READING INGREDIENT LABELS PRIOR to purchasing the product.

If you cannot spell the ingredient, or do not understand what it is, there is a high probability is is NOT good for you!

The problem is that corporations like Monsanto have too much money!! The corporate form of business is not beneficial to society. It allows for the accumulation of too much money without accountability. This money buys power and influence. Individuals can't have the same influence on our world (unless very united) as corporations. There is no democracy with corporations.

Furthermore, I think it is time we citizens vote on the issues ourselves without having a "reprsentative" to deal with. This would eliminate corporate influence. The technology is there which would make this possible.

Because of corporations we don't have clean air, water or food. These should be a "given." The Senator from my state always votes for big business against the environment, etc. I would think if individuals could vote on issues themselves, the environment, etc. would stand a better chance of surviving.
