IN response to whoever posted that kids can't have enough self respect to abstain from sex, I happen to believe that if kids are told the truth about things, from sex to junk food, beyond "that's bad for you",that they are capable of making good choices. I can't imagine kids continuing to go to McDonald's if they were given a graphic age appropriate class based on Fast Food Nation for example, just as to the point abstinence education can promote abstinence. To supplement, replace Merck and McDonald commericals with Mercola videos about the the health hazards of unhealthy food and irresponsible sex, including telling kids how they are targeted, marketed and baited, propagandized, to "buy" whatever lies they are being sold, perhaps those kids would get mad enough for healthy rebellion. Of course parents need to be educated as wel.l. There WAS a time in our society where hpv and diabetes by the time a person is 16 was not a likelihood. We have to believe that kids deserve the truth, and that truth was meant to resonate in our hearts to the point that we can act on it. I just thought of an exercise you can do with kids. Have in your hand as many short sticks and long sticks the likelihood of getting hpv by engaging in premarital sex and have kids pick out the sticks. Then show them and educate them to std's, who they can be in dignity, character and health by lovingand respecting themselves and others enough to abstain. Realistic I think.

HPV is entirely prventable if girls avoid sex. Another example of Dr. Mercola's idealized view of the word. Teenagers won't eat junk food. They will always think nice thoughts, and they will never have sex. This is unrealistic. The HPV vaccine is effective at preventing the disease, and as immunization is a public good, is a wise idea. Clearly, immunizations are public goods, because if I am protected from contracting a disease, I reduce your risk of contracting a disease.

This same bill has just been introduced in my state of KS, recommended for girls ages 11 through 26. This is absurd! If we have girls as young as 11 who are at substantial risk of contracting an STD, don't we need to look at where we've gone wrong as a society? Of course, this can't happen, because it is not, nor will it ever be under the current structure, profitable for us to fix the real problems of our culture. Instead, what will happen is that girls will be come sexually active younger and younger and very soon, this vaccine will be mandatory at birth. Why not? Our state already includes the HepB vaccine in the toxic cocktail all infants receive in their first hours/days of life. HepB...a virus contractable through sexual behaviors and usage of dirty needles. I haven't seen any babies shooting up on the streets of Wichita, but maybe I'm missing something...

There is the opt-out clause, just as there is one for any vaccine, but has anyone tried it? I believe the clauses are defined differently from state to state, but anytime you tell the government "no", you're not in for an easy time.

There is also the issue of cost. $360 for 3 shots over 6 mos. And if you have more than one female child, the cost climbs. Of course many insurance companies don't cover it, not to mention the millions who are uninsured, but ...some gracious community clinics will offer it free if there is a hardship. How kind. The vaccine was made available last summer and many girls have already received the vaccine, however it is not currently mandatory in KS.

This is yet another wicked attempt at the destruction of human life, specifically human life with the potential for independent thought and belief, at a tender age.

I apologise for my confusion but why would a unvaccinated child be banned from school if all the other children are vaccinated?

It's not like the 'vaccinated' children would 'catch' any thing or pass on anything

after all .....they are 'vaccinated' Hmmmmm...interesting

You know it is amazing to me that the government can't regulate something like abortion because it would violate my right to choose, but I am suppose to violate my child's body (no choice allowed there!!) every few months as an infant and every few years later with something that is death in a vial!

This "health" system is not about health of my body for sure!

I live in California and I heard on the news a few days ago that if you refuse to give your children the cold and flu vaccine, they are not allowed to go to school with all the other kids and their only option is to be homeschooled. This is not the HPV vaccine, but it is as dangerous, no?

And there's also going to be a rule/law that if your child coughs at school, they will be expelled or something.

How sad. We don't even have the right to cough in public anymore. This is making me really depressed.

My doctor (PA) really pushed this at my last pap smear. I was really insulted. I've been married for 12 years, why on earth do I need to be vaccinated for an STD? Not that I would ever get another vaccination for any reason.

Duane has some good points. I think health insurance is largely to blame for the pharmaceutical monster. If people had to pay for super expensive treatments, tests, and medicines themselves these companies would not be in business the way they are today. Prices would have to be affordable. People wouldn't run their kids to the doctor for antibiotics every time they had the sniffles!

It's more than that, though. People are lazy. They want quick fix solutions and modern allopathic medicine fits the bill. It's so much easier to take a statin than to diet and exercise. Why even try?

I recommend everyone get and read Dr. Mercola's 'The Great Bird Flu Hoax'...which in detail explains how very sinister and dark lobbying efforts try to get thess type od deadly legislation passed for pure GREED and PROFIT of their sponsors.

Driving home and listening to a nationally syndicated radio show a few night's back, there was a bio chemist modeling expert explaining in detail, how the majority of 'publicly' endorsed, or governmental back vaccinations, indeed have proven models of a great deal of the ending up, from urine excretion, in the swer treatments systems, all or about the same time. Thus getting into wetlands, and very potentially creating additional resistence to the supposed vaccinations, and then triggering further disease.

I tell you this scenario was right out of the book and movie 'The Accidental Gardener'...
