I removed Soda from my diet completely (moving to water and orange juice) and lost nearly 30 pounds in less than 6 months. I then cut out all processed foods (specifically those with MSG and Corn syrup and nitrate/nitrites) and lost another 30 pounds in another 6 months. Its been nearly 2 years since I originally gave up soda and am much slimmer, healthier, etc and yet I haven't changed anything else about my lifestyle (mind you that was pretty big). We did the change due to the hyperactivity of my kids and it benefited us both. Plus I had the benefit of having an excuse to buy new clothes.

re: The Plague of High Fructose Corn Syrup in Processed Foods

Watch out also folks for hidden and chemically refined HIGH FRUCTOSE that is even more concentrated and health damaging (diabetes, cardio vascular disease, cancer, hypogycemia, Sydrome X, obesity, etc.) intentionally MISLABELED, or DECEPTIVELY and legally noncompliant like: 'chicory', 'inulin', 'iso glucose', 'glucose-fructose syrup', 'dahlia syrup', 'tapicoa syrup', 'glucose syrup', 'corn syrup', 'crystalline fructose' and flat out fraud 'fruit fructose', or criminally prosecuted and non Generally Recognized As Safe human red blood membrane cell destroying, and spontaneous abortion triggering, 'agave'....

re: The Plague of High Fructose Corn Syrup in Processed Foods

This also includes non carbonated drinks such as Capri Sun, you have to be a label reader. Or just stay away from anything in a package.
