I live in Sydney and have a 9 year old and a 5 year old. My 9 year old ( who is fully vaccinated ) is dyslexic, had auditory processing issues, used to suffer extrememly high temperatiures and had many tonsilitis attacks.

After much Complimentary medicine including Kinesiology and the Davis Program these issues are mosly non existant now, however, I wonder constantly, would I have had to do such intensive therapy and work on all levels

IF ONLY I HAD BEEN TOLD THE TRUTH.

We need to get this information out there. Doctors I beleive are worse than liers they are ignorant and that should be a crime as they call themselves our advisors amoungst other things. They should be made to investigate from all angles. (Which will never happen because Pharmaceuticals would never let it.) (Makes you want to ask the question " Who does run the country Mr Rudd?"

I am now Complimentary therapist and work with these children all the time and my heart goes out to the parents who just never knew or where not told,. Yes we get wonderful results but a lot of these children wouldn't have had the issue if it were not for vaccines.

Excellent article. I now wonder if the "normal" spiking of temperatures in 2-4 year olds (104 degrees F.) is a result of vaccinations. I don't remember these temperatures occurring a few decades ago. (I live in the US, and doctors told me this was normal.)

Okay, I am hearing all of this thinking that it all makes sense, but when we go to make these decisions, we have to KNOW that the facts are, in fact, facts. Does that make sense. My wife and I have a newborn and in order to reject vaccinations, I am going to have to REALLY know my stuff. How do I find the background research to make an informed decision?

We lost our first born daughter in June 1993, only 24 hours after being vaccinated. Brandy Mae was a healthy girl until she received her shots. She died at almost 18 months of age. I was brain washed by our pediatricians to believe that the vaccines would make her big and strong and protect her from all diseases. I was never told there was a risk, and back then I wasn't told I had a right and there were no waivers to sign.

After she died, we educated ourselves and continue to do so. We are fortunate to have two more children completely vaccine free. I have two brothers completely vaccine free, and two nephews completely vaccine free. I have another niece/nephew on the way that will be vaccine free as well.

Educating before vaccinating is worth it! It can save your child's life. I only wish the information would have been out there in 1993.

Dr. Mercola is one of the very few physicians I have come across that is willing to speak up and honestly about this issue. I applaud him and the work he has done.

Our children (now 18 and 16) were never vaccinated, they remain in good health...and have never been treated (drugged) for an active ear infection. Between them they have had less than 12 episodes of antibiotics since birth. Few people are aware that the companies who produce these drugs are not liable for side effects or negative outcomes in any way...it seems odd that the drug producers are protected by the government and have absolutely no liability for vaccine injuries, WE the people, through taxes are footing the bill for those fortunate enough to survive the gauntlet created by bureaucracy intending to dissuade individuals from seeking aid and truth, for those children (and parents) injured by these drugs ...the profits from these vaccines run in the billions and none of these funds support the fallen, the collateral damage, in this" war against disease". Tell me its not about the money.

Hi, I'm am an Australian registered nurse/midwife and have just been told that if I don't get all the vaccinations then I cannot work in areas like children's wards, maternity units, emergency departments, intensive care units, high dependancy, etc. The health nurse then qualified her statement by saying that I probably could not work anywhere in the hospital.
NSW Health is mandating all staff be vaccinated for everything and soon to include the yearly flu vaccine. Unfortunately I got the 3 shots of Hep B in 2000 (before I was educated on this issue) and have experienced peripheral parasthesia ever since. Off to the naturopath..... and so there goes my job!
Has anyone heard of such a thing in a health system?
And I just wanted to thank Mercola.com for such a great education site.

Choosing not to vaccinate my two girls was the hardest decision I ever made. Four years ago, when I started the quest for info, many people thought I was insane. People looked at me like I was a child abuser. These people included my parents and my husbands. When I told my doctor that I wasn't vaccinating she looked at me and said I was crazy, and putting my child at great risk. She was the same doctor who told me that because the health food industry wasn't regulated, she wouldn't use any of it "not even on her dog".
I stuck to my guns, she happily dropped me as a patient. My second doctor, was just as persistent with my second child. He actually gave me the paperwork that comes with the vaccine to try to change my mind.
His mistake. The whole thing was warnings on side effects.
Both my children were breastfed for two years, and are treated with homeopathic medicines. My family is on my side now, it was my sister who sent me this video.
I made the right decision for me. I was once asked by a friend to convince his wife not to vaccinate. I will not do that. This decision was so personal, and could only be made by a person who has done enough research to be completely comfortable with their decision.

I also wanted to say to moo..
Tetanus needs very specific conditions. If you watch all cuts and scratches, monitoring that they are healing from the inside out, keep them clean and disinfected (tea tree oil), you should be okay. If all else fails and you do end up with a tetanus infection, there is a tetanus salve that can be applied at the hospital. It can kill tetanus without all the side effects of a vaccine.

i was never vaccinated as a child ( i'm 66) when i was in about the 4th grade a program was instituted in my school for mandatory vaccination.. while standing in line for my "shots" upon hearing the ones who had gone before me crying, i became frightened and went and hid in the cloak room. i refused to attend school on the follow up shots.i did have measles and chicken pox but none of the diseases they were vaccinating for at that time. but as i grew into adulthood i had to have a tetanus shot each time i had injured myself and still do as i never had the series. i guess my question is: should a parent vaccinate against tetanus as children are always getting hurt?

Among many of the best and the brightest in our society, there seems to be a disconnect between their ordinary discrimination and the caution with which they regard high tech medicine. The richest, most well educated, and powerful people, almost entirely bow down to the medical gods. That is, when they go to a doctor they leave their discrimination at the door. Vaccines are the most obvious example. The claims of the medical prelates do not match the reality of health in our country. While more and more vaccines are developed for more and more diseases, the population continues to get sicker, their immune systems continue to fall, and the incidence of contagious diseases (which vaccines are supposed to prevent) continues to rise. The medical doctor's response is more vaccines. The result, other than the increasing sickness, is a kind of mental paralysis in which common sense goes out the window and the most bizarre treatments are regarded as reasonable medicine.

I struggled with whether or not to immunize my 2 kids in the. I felt like I was pushed up against a wall. My sister didn't have her last 2 immunized because of severe allergies. However, I succomed to the fear of the pediatrician who said it would be "all my fault" if my kids got one of these diseases. Now, I often wonder with regret why my son struggles with dyslexia, hyperactivity, and asthma ... and my daugter is behind her peers in preschool and has trouble with her bowels. Really makes one wonder. Raw milk and mangosteen juice has helped my son's asthma tremendously. I pray that God has mercy on some of our parental decisions and heals our children.

FDA today, 1/29/07, announced they were approving a birth control drug for acne treatment....?

My initial though was it was like trying to swat a fly with a thermo nuclear tactical warhead.

Once again, much like ill conceived (pardon the pun) vaccination regiments, mention in this article, the boys and girls at FDA have lost all sense of logic, common sense, or the safety of the public.

FDA is not working, as they are chartered under the 1938 Cosmetic Act, which brought them into existence, on behalf of the US Congress, but rather the lobbies essentially running Congress, through Billions Of Dollars in influence and graft.

But do not worry folks, it is bound to get more outrageous tomorrow, or the day after, with almost a daily headline of how the fat foxes are running the chicken coops (or is that USDA's territory?... but I digress).

Will Rogers was indeed correct, "we have the best government money can buy".

Not only is fear of disease a factor, most states have an immunization campaign designed to encourage parents to vaccinated their children. They are told that it is the law and there are no exceptions. Unless the parents know better. There is also the implied threat that if you don't do what the government wants that your children can be taken from you. There are exceptions to the vaccination laws however, most people are not aware of them.

Vaccination is a great example of how fear motivates smart people into making irrational health decisions. My point being that fear of disease, not informed decision making is most often the motivation for vaccinating.

I believe that one of the best decisions that my wife and I made was not vaccinating our four children. I was blessed to have my chiropractor encourage me to look into vaccination before it was too late and I could not take the decision back. The decision was made when evidence was lacking regarding the safety and efficacy of vaccination.

Christopher Kent, DC (who has authored articles on this site) has four recommendations for giving kids a great start: 1) Breast feed for at least one year. 2) Raise the child in a loving environment. 3) Regular Chiropractic adjustments. 4) Avoid vaccinations. Along with proper nutrition and exercise, my kids are some of the healthiest kids I know. Their strong host resistance is not from medicines and vaccinations, but a healthy, well rounded lifestyle.

I was told by a mentor "Spend at least as much time researching vaccination as you would researching the new car you want to buy." Our children deserve at least that much.
