Unfortunately, this article misses the most important feature these Presidents had in common. Both took initial steps to end our constant debt to privately owned central banks that print money out of air and loan it to our government, making BILLIONS for their private owners. Few Americans know that the Federal Reserve is privately owned, making money for its' foreign owners by lending money to our government. Several US Presidents, including Lincoln, understood this. Lincoln’s government began printing its' own money (the Greenbacks) and when he stated he would continue doing so after the Civil War he was promptly killed. The only 20^th century President to recirculate the Greenbacks was Kennedy.

Americans need to learn the history of the Federal Reserve, and that the Federal Reserve is NOT a public institution. It is a private bank. An excellent video available at www.themoneymasters.com reviews the topic (I have heard this video is posted on YouTube as well, but it is not in the public domain). Endorsers of monetary reform include Nobel Prize winning economist Milton Friedman and many prominent Republicans and Democrats.
