Light bulbs, energy savings, Global Warming.

The USA, we are told recently on the news, uses 25 percent of the Earth's energy and has a population of only 5 percent of the Earth's population.

Global warming; the politicians worldwide, have known about this for over 30 years and just talked, talked talked and talked and posed on the world platform and appeared to do very little.

Global Warming has a positive side and a negative side:

The negative side.........the seas will rise.

The postitive side..........the beach will be closer.

And.........while we all run around like "Ice Age" Dodos........CHINA is the major culprit today with INDIA a close second.

We in the UK, of course invented the Industrial revolution and led the world in manufacturing.......ah, those were the days.

We in the UK are running around like mad, me included, washing bottles, saving paper, recycling anything we can get our hands on and as we reach the recycling bins..........CHINA's output of Carbon Dioxide and toxins has cancelled out all that we have done.

So.............what is the best way to keep warm and healthy when the Ice Age finally appears in the Northern hemisphere, any ideas or recommendations anyone ?

Why does the phrase "Unfortunately, the California bill caught the attention of Wal-Mart, leading the predatory retailer to predict it will sell 100 million compact fluorescent light bulbs on their own by the end of the year" appear in this article?

What a ridiculous thing to say. Where does this statement fit into this story--or even make sense?

Shouldn't it instead say something like "Walmart has responsibly acted to promote light bulbs such as these?"

It's a shame this website has been hijacked by sleaze such as this.

BTW, has anyone done an analysis of the increased energy costs of flourescent bulbs, compared to traditional incandescent bulbs, when the light must be turned on and off on a regular basis?

I have been using full spectrum lighting for over a year, and found the product very satisfying and healthier, not only for humans, but for animals. Unfortunitly, I am unable to send $20.00 for one bulb. I use Seventh Generation bulbs, and Chronmalux. I would prefer to use the ones Dr. Mercola recommends.

About this article--- Again greed is taking another step, without consideration to life, health, well-being , and freedom of choice. I wonder if these personalities understand about idenity theft. Or maybe they do!!! They seem to want everybodies, everything. I wonder why!!! Perhaps they lost theirs.

The mercury issue may be far more detrimental to our environment and to our health than the inefficiency of incandescent bulbs! Mercury was removed from our thermometers and thermostats because it is so dangerous (but I guess it is still okay in dental fillings and vaccines... and light bulbs). If these bulbs replace incandescent bulbs in every fixture in every household and business in America, we are in serious toxic trouble! Do we call the hazmat team if a light bulb breaks?

Please don't forget to take flourescent bulbs to hazardous recycle waste facilities in your community because they contain mercury.
