We in the UK have a major problem with burglars, because our government is so tied up with human rights and concern for the criminal, not the victim, burglars appear to be treated well by our judiciary.

An Englishmans home is certainly not his castle, however as one top judge said a couple of years ago, when a burglar was killed by the husband of the house because the burglar attacked his wife:

"He got what he deserved" and rightly so.

It will not be too long in the UK before Burglary will be on the corriculum in all schools as a trade.

Just one thought don't let you children know you have hidden money in their room, They might end up cleaning up their rooms to look for the money. :^)
