Do you realize the behavior of Monsanto and other chemical firms has nothing to do with crop yield or feeding people, but selling chemicals?

GE seed is more resistant to pesticides, therefore more can be used!

"Round Up ready" seed is bundled witih huge amounts of Round Up as a sales/marketing technique. It's marketed as "resistant so you can use more pesticide and kill more bugs."

Nothing will change until enough people rise up and in one voice, declare "we want clean air, food and water." AND, if we vote for the more honest people who will make sure these agencies get cleaned out and replaced with people working for US not the corporations.

It's our own fault things are the way they are. We've supported it with our votes. To change it, change the way you vote next election.

When I was a young girl, a long time ago, Hollywood made a science fiction movie about our future food supply. Of course there was a Hollywood plot along with this theme. They predicted that one day, our food supply would be so contaminated, that we would live and survive on vit. , minerals, enzimes in pill or capsule form. In some way, back then, I had a feeling this would become a reality. Sad to say, we are almost there. The way we eat in our household is mostly raw fruits and veggies with the preface number 9. We consume a lot of vit. , minerals, enzymes, and we flush. We eat less then anybody we know and find to be the healthier for it. We keep busy and continually improve our minds. Our home is almost toxic free. Never will be perfect, because of the outdoor toxins. We use toxic free cleaners and our personal items are toxic free. We keep a possitive attitude, no matter what, and other things. We live simple, stress free, and are thriving. Think about it people, is your health more important then anything else.

Remember "With out your health, you have nothing.

I agree with enzo, who will ever know what GMO's are harming us with all the other toxic poisons in our foods. Same with the drugs people take, especially when they take 5 or 6 different prescritptions a day. Who will ever know all the possible side effects of just one drug let alone all the combined unknown side effects?
A gentleman said on another post that God gave us an immune system and we are destoying it. I so agree. I intend to continue building my immune system and staying healthy and maybe a few of us like enzo will be reading vital votes when we're 120 years old.

The Japanese Government is waiting ten years before making a decision on GMO's. Their comment was that they will watch to see what happens to America's children in that time. Our children are guinea pigs in this debate!

I shop at a co-op that guarantees that the products that they sell do not contain GMO's or artificial preservatives and chemicals.

There's a few items you cannot get there anymore because they can't find a company that guarantees that they do not use GMO's in their product. Cornstarch comes to mind. The bulk bin for it contained an apology note and a suggestion to use Arrowroot powder instead.

The only way to keep GMO's from taking hold is to make sure that there isn't a market. I've been encouraging others not to buy anything without a "GMO free" label on it. If no one buys it, there isn't a market for it.

There is a serious problem developing in our food supply. We are on the one side being asked to serve as subject for the effects of genetically modified foods cloned meats ect.. No one can say with any certainty that these foods wont have serious effects when used long term. We really don't no how equivalent these foods will be .But while our experts are giving the green lit here . I think that there is also going to be an assault on safe organic food has anyone noticed the overreaction to some random cases on salmonella from spinach or onions or peanut butter . This stuff is generating more publicity then it should. The fda approves a spray composed of viruses to prevent wisteria on lunch meat. In a recent article in the NEJM a doctor suggested that all raw vegetables be irradiated. I wonder what that will do to our health.

Monsanto never said the crop was safe for the animals to consume, just that it would not hurt the environment. Sometimes you need to see what is not there.

Genetically Modified Organisms folks ARE NOT SAFE, never were SAFE, and are unlikely to be SAFE, because there have been few, or no, human ingestion studies, for any reasonable period of time, over a randomized and empirically scrutinized large population base, that has not been funded by the proponents of these dangerous crops, with replicable data for lack of harm or allergenicity.

This is why GMO is BANNED in the European Union.

Argumentation that GMO crops are "just fine" because of animal ingestion studies, run by the promoters of such FRANKEN FOODS, is the equivalent of saying if is no adverse short term reaction in laboratory rodents, or larger mammals, there will be no adverse reaction in any humans.

Such argumentation has been proven false already in rats eating genetically modified potatoes growing 5, 6,7, and 8 limbs from their heads, necks, backs and torsos, within weeks of ingestion, as well as farm raised high yield weight gain salmon forming many carcinogenic tumors.

This repeatedly FAILED logic is a return to the 'bad old days' of such an argument for phalidimide deformed human infants, or DES (diethylstibestrol) pregnant mothers of the 40's, 50's and 60's!!!

I encourage all readers of this site, as well as telling your family and friends, to watch 'The Future Of Food', that was available on this web site for FREE, or is available elsewhere on the internet, for FREE.

Is the approval process for the food chain broken, corrupted, and harmfully effecting America's health? Yes.

What can each of us do about it? Refuse, just like single individuals, and then groups, followed by countries, did in an OUTCRY to get these horrifically bad for you products banned here also.

Remember, arrogant US agribusiness corporations here, and in South America, lost BILLION$ in EU market share in seeds, crops and oils when the EU said "NO ". YOU have the same economic leverage.
