They know that we are serious about getting the word out. We are exposing them for what they are: money hungry mongrels who will stop at nothing in the name of the almighty dollar!

These donoughts, along with so-called "organic" oreos, show that large companies have become aware of an educated consumer base. No, they are still not good for us. WE know that, but unfortunately, millions of consumers will take that as a green light to continue their horrific eating habits, guilt free. But it's a start. We need to keep doing what we are doing now, and continue to put pressure on the food industry to clean up the trans fats and other unhealthy ingredients, entirely.

A year ago, many large grocery chains, Giant Eagle being one of them, had little to no organic foods to offer. Now, they have four aisles, an entire freezer section and a whole dairy case dedicated to healthy foods. Why? Because millions of Americans (like all of us here) have put the pressure on...

As ridiculous as whole wheat, low cal Krispee Kreem donoughts are, they are a sign...a HUGE sign that we are being heard!

re: Don't Be Fooled By a Whole-Wheat Doughnut

I had to 'weigh-in' on this one. The other day, someone brought organic Oreo cookies to my office. They wanted to show-off their new discovery. I almost lost it. Another attempt by big business to fool the public.

We must be ever vigilant in our purchases as these companies realize the power of words like: organic, natural, whole wheat, etc.

If it's organic but processed with sugar, high fructose corn syrup, corn oil and other organic garbage, it's still going to have the same effect on increasing type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity. Ya just won't die of cancer caused by pesticides or herbicides as your blood sugar is shooting off the charts.

I usually use the "would you give it to your dog?" test when asking people why they eat some of the processed foods they do. Just a thought.

re: Don't Be Fooled By a Whole-Wheat Doughnut

Can we expect anything less from a company being widely sued for cooking (deep frying?) their books, by many of it's own franchisees; having gone through several corporate financial officers; and now offering a fraudulent attempt at health, with among the most unhealthy of food items ever invented?

No wonder these guys are headquartered in TOBACCO country.

What's next, a TV commercial endorsement by Homer Simpson, for the new Nuclear Waste 'glow in the dark' sprinkle topping donut?

Ah yes, 'Baker's Dozen' move over, the new standard is the 'Homer Glow Pack', with 14 donuts, for the price of 12.

But short this stock, because there will not be much repeat business...

re: Don't Be Fooled By a Whole-Wheat Doughnut

This is unbelievable! What will they come up next? ORGANIC Donuts? What you're eating are simply SUGAR, GREASE and FLUOR. That's all there is to it. I guess if you put sugar on anything people will eat it. just make sure to shape it into something cute and put colorful sprinkles on it. Presentation is everything. In this case, misrepresentation.

re: Don't Be Fooled By a Whole-Wheat Doughnut

So what do they call the whole wheat doughnut holes? Whole holes.

re: Don't Be Fooled By a Whole-Wheat Doughnut

A couple of things to pay attention to when it comes to food, quality, the company, ingredients, etc:
1. Most people are intolerant to gluten and most grains (except rice and buckwheat) contain gluten. Gluten is found in most fast foods.
2. YOu get what you pay for
3. What are the other ingredients and what are their qualitites. Are they GMO, are they organic, are they processed, are they bleached, can you pronounce the names of the ingredients, etc.
4. Is the company out to make money or are the really interested in YOU
5. Was it here 10,000 years ago?
