You will benefit from exercise only if your body can recover from it.

Before beginning exercise program assess your stress levels: Musculosceletal, Hormonal & Limbic/Emotional and pick an appropriate exercise program.

When stressed, I always recommend walking, stretching, weight training,Tai Chi, Qi Gong or more relaxing types of Yoga. When you are not stressed, that is when you can get away with lots more. Like High Performance, Athletic and Endurance Training.

If you need help in accessing your stress levels or choosing an appropriate exercise program, contacting a C.H.E.K practitioner in your area is a wise decision.

re: Getting in Shape Protects You From Stress

Remember folks, low impact exercise, like walking, or swimming, is also an easy way to get in this healthy habit.

In the case of walking, no gym fees, yours for the price of a pair of comfortable shoes, and you will be AMAZED what you see along your walking route, you never saw from a car.

I personally do not like to work out in gyms, weather permitting, because I find the air and humidity stifling, on a weight machine, or tread mill, as well as boring, irrespective of an IPOD with tunes.

Remember, to slowly and progressively work up to easy to achieve goals. Do not try to become a world beater out of the blocks only to hurt, harm, or exhaust yourself.

Slow and steady, to borrow from Aesop, wins the race.
