This goes to show how much control the Rx industry has over MD's, the government and society. The sad thing is, is that it is all them. We blame MD's, the government, society, etc. They all could or should do more research, but when it comes down to it, the Rx industry is buying everyone off.

MD's get this stuff pushed in their face in med school. Of course they should do their research on it, but they don't. The goverment is paid off and is show crappy research on how these drugs "should work." But are we rats? Society, well that just comes with beleiving in what you see or hear, really thinking MD's are god, as well as just being lazy.

By no means am I justifying for any of them. The thing is, when all these people start taking responsibility for themselves by eating better foods and leading a more holistic lifestyle, most of these meds will not be neeed. In the west, we live and eat like crap and wait until we get sick to go to the MD. In the east, they live and eat life, so their journey is full of prevention.

Silver lining? Decrease in the rate of increase?

Maybe it's decreasing because everyone is already on something not because less people are taking drugs?

Consider this:

People of all ages use prescription drugs. Use is particularly high among older Americans. The American Association of Retired Persons reports 76 percent of people 50 and older take at least one prescription drug regularly; 87 percent of Americans 65 and older take at least one prescription drug regularly. Among those who regularly use prescription medication, the average person takes four different drugs.

There are very few of us left that aren't taking something.

It cannot be over emphasized in Dr. Mercola's comments, that the alternatives he is recommending, are empirically proven, safe, effective. and have no ill side effects...

Ode to the Doctor

“Your baldness is quite treatable

I’m giving you this pill”

He gave me a prescription

Then handed me the bill

More pills were added to my list

They seemed to do the job

And then I got a nasty rash

Which spread down to my kn*b

The hair grew thickly on my head

Alas my s*x life failed

I suffered from incontinence

And pains that made me pale

My guts went into spasms

My b*m leaked orange ooze

God help me if I f*rted

My wife was not enthused

Let's see approximately $4.7 billion spent on nutritional supplements in 2006 vs. $275 billion spent on pharmaceuticals...Houston, we have a problem. That silver lining is very slim in my opinion. Have they accounted for the baby-boomer generation that is about to slam the medical industry? Can you imagine what the death toll will be from side effects of these drugs by say 2015? It will be staggering! If that is not enough to scare you, the scientific data backing alot of these drugs is downright fraudulent. There is only one equation that make sense to me: Quality and quantity of life = Mercola's Metabolic Typing.
