Organic, RAW MILK??????
Well, I do and I drive an hour each way to get it. I also get eggs from chickens that are truly free range. I feel fortunate to have found someone who cares and takes the time and energy to bring this food to my family's table. Find a farmer who has the conviction and dedication to stay true to the traditional methods of growing and raising real food and then give them your patronage. Help them to be sustainable and maybe, just maybe, we can turn this mess around that the FDA created. Do not be intimidated by their scare tactics
Our bodies were not made to run on pasteurized milk! Or any of the other crap lining the grocery store aisles for that matter.

And for those of you who may be sensitive to milk, there's a good chance you will be able to tolerate just the raw cream if it's diluted with water.

I went to www.fda.gov and checked out some of the articles there to see what kind of lies they were handing out to the public and was really disgusted. They quoted studies without saying who did the study, and why. They stated theories as fact. The phrase, "raw milk is dangerous," was repeated over and over. They claimed that raw milk kills babies. What a load of hooey. I drank raw milk as a child and never was sick from it. I don't even KNOW anyone who has been sickened by drinking raw milk.

I sense that there is a strong political twist to this issue and we haven't seen the deep issue behind the false front that is being presented. My suspicion is that the large dairy conglomerates are lobbying these state legislators heavily and that they are terrified that milk prices will fall when the mass majority finally realizes that they have been fed a pack of lies. The FDA has and will continue to be corrupt and corruptible. Money is the grease that keeps this machine working. Vote with your pocketbook and stop buying pasteurized milk. I can't get fresh raw milk in Georgia anywhere near Atlanta, but I used to get it from a farm in North Georgia. Alas, I don't know how to contact those people anymore. And I have so little time to drive the vast distances to secure it (illegally) from South Carolina. Shame on our governement.

re: Time Magazine Cites Mercola.com as a Leader in the Raw Milk Movement

Years ago Adele Davis had a recipe for yoghurt that started with unpasteurized milk powder if fresh raw milk was not available. Does anyone know if you can still get that powder and would it have nutrional value if you could?

re: Time Magazine Cites Mercola.com as a Leader in the Raw Milk Movement

In 1976 I went to Dr. Paavo Airola for a consultation 6 weeks before my son was born. I had been a vegetarian for 3 years - avoiding milk and had been doing great!
Then I followed his advice and started drinking raw milk & eating raw cheese.....in 3 months I had a lemon sized growth. Two doctors told me that I would be given no guarantees, unless it was surgically removed.
Being into nutrition - I simply stopped the milk & cheese & in 2-l/2 months the lemon-sized tumor was gone - never came back..
There is a limit to the amount of protein humans can handle - and cow's milk was designed for a 500 lb growth in 9 months for a calf.
How can humans drink milk, when 8 oz (8 grams) fills 1/3 - l/4 of daily protein requirements? All I require is: 26 grams

re: Time Magazine Cites Mercola.com as a Leader in the Raw Milk Movement

I live in Florida, so the raw milk I'm able to get, and I'm SO lucky to be able to get it, is labeled "for animal consumption only." I've been drinking this milk (AND feeding my critters with it!) and making kefir and yogurt out of it for over three years now. I avoid pasteurized and especially homogenized milk like the plague, whether it's organic or not. I think the most influential and radical thing we can do right now is take back our right to fresh, wholesome, clean food and water, and obtaining raw milk is one way to do it.

re: Time Magazine Cites Mercola.com as a Leader in the Raw Milk Movement

Raw milk is a wonderful food, but before consuming it, I would make a thorough check of the farm. Bovine Leukemia Virus is widespread in herds nowadays, and is being studied as a link to human breast cancer. It can be spread to calves by feeding milk from infected cows. I presume they could test for the presence of it in the herd, maybe provide a certificate? Personally, I only drink raw milk from my own cows, who were hand reared on milk powder and haven't been vaccinated at all. Other nasties in milk include yersinia, mycobacterium paratuberculosis, listeria and salmonella. We could and should be drinking milk as it was intended to be drunk, but modern farming practices, such as large herds and vaccination may make it unsafe. illegal where I live. The local health food store tried selling raw

ironic, this county has more pasture grazing cows than anywhere else in

Although, it wasn't that long ago when they shut down my supplier for a couple weeks. A few months ago, Organic Pastures was under investigation and all their milk was recalled. All because there was an E-coli scare. What did they find? NOTHING!!!! I think it's very interesting that every time they try to "aha" the raw-milk drinkers they find nothing wrong with the milk. The ironic thing is that people think raw milk is bad for them, when the truth is pasteurized milk is horrible for your health. Once again, they took one of God's super foods and made it into something BAD for you...

re: Time Magazine Cites Mercola.com as a Leader in the Raw Milk Movement

It amazes me how short the public's collective memory is.

In the 1960's, growing up both in a rural area, and than an urban area, of California, there was always daily home delivery of "fresh" (whole, chilled and raw - perhaps then flash pasteurized in the late 60's) milk.

Such fresh milk was delivered in recyclable (steamed and cleaned) thick clear glass bottles, that were not homogenized, and the butter cream would rise to the surface. It had great taste, wholesome nutrition, and no one got FAT off it. Children drinking this milk seemed healthier back then; I do not believe this is a mere coincidence.

It would be VERY interesting to compare if listeria, salmonella, or other microbiological, or bacteriological issues even existed, drinking this wholesome fresh product back then, (many times not even regularly chilled, along with unchilled fresh egg delivery), versus today's CDC numbers on antibiotic laden, disease resistant, and highly manipulated, ultra fragmented and processed (nutritionally dumb-downed) long distribution time, store bought milk.

With "value added " (profit) segmentation of dairy, starting with hyping powdered milk, then skim, then low fat, then fat free, along with emulsified and aerated butters (to make more money selling off butter fat at higher separate pricing, to industry use elsewhere, including fake flavorings), the entire current American dairy production and distribution structure is very corrupted nutritionally.

When dairy operations are using "does not have or contain" advertising, to sell a product (like cloning or health harming hormones) it's time to BOYCOTT that product line.

DRINK RAW MILK...It Does A Body Good!
