This wouldn't be that big of a deal but my husband said it was 2 in the morning and I had taken my pants off. Just strange. I whole heartedly believe that people do many strange things that are not normal when they take this. Anytime I hear that someone is going to take this I tell them to be careful because the amnesia part is no joke and that they may end up with a broomstick in their a** and not remember anything.

re: Those Ambien Side Effects Aren't Amusing to the FDA Any More

I had a sleep-driving incident after taking Ambien for three weeks and found myself being arrested for DWI at 3am miles away from my home. I had no recollection of leaving my home, driving or running my car into a curb!! I have been in touch w/an attorney in Denver who is pursuing a class action suit against Ambien and I will be part of that if it ever comes to fruition! If that is so, what in heaven's name is the point? No thanks! If I'm to be up and about anyways,…I'd much prefer to remain cognizant of my existence, and at least capable of doing something productive during the night.

I'll say it again…Since I've been taking SAM-e, I sleep soundly every night, and awake fully rested. I believe it has helped me to maintain a relaxed mood throughout the day, which makes winding down for bedtime a more relaxed and natural experience… I actually look forward to bedtime now.

re: Those Ambien Side Effects Aren't Amusing to the FDA Any More

I was on Ambien because of a spine fusion gone wrong, constant pain and could not sleep. I would scare the living daylights out of my husband when I was driving, he would yell all the time to watch out for cars, I would turn right in front of them and had many near misses. Not even being aware of how I was driving. This is very dangerous medicine! I now take Melatonin 3mg if I have to and it works great. No more complaints from my husband for the way I am driving. There are other alternatives for sleep on the market that much safer with no side effects.

re: Those Ambien Side Effects Aren't Amusing to the FDA Any More

i actually have ambien, but have only taken it thrice

http://rss.topix.net/forum/drug/ambien/TV3E2FSAURH3M2U93/p5

read this

When
they put me on Ambien, everything was fine, until the night my friend
called me and woke me. Weird things started happening and I didn't
remember all of them. Its a blur. But from what my friend told me, I
had multi-personality. One minute there was a "master" and the next
there was a "servant" She said that they all had different voices and
acted really violent. She came over because I tried to kill myself. But
that was a mistake, because she tried to stop me and I tried to kill
her. Came close to it too. She also said I rapped her. Lets just say I
ended up in the hospital.
QUOTE

I
know this drug has worked for many people but for me it has been a
nightmare. I have gained 35 pounds sleep eating/cooking at night and I
have even sleep walked out the house and went to a neighbors house. I
am afraid of what is to come.

QUOTE

I've
been taking Ambien 10mg on and off (mostly on) for about 4 years now,
and have had some very strange things happen in the night, but had
little or no memory of it. My husband tells me in the morning of them.
Some are just kinda strange, like having sex and not remembering it at
all, but some have been terrible, like lighting candles, being verbally
abusive to my husband (NOT a normal behavior for me at all!), drinking
whole bottles of wine, buying stuff on-line, and yes, eating, too, all
without a shred of memory. Actually, I just had an especially bad night
2 nights ago which badly freaked out my husband. Sometimes he will tell
me about it and I'll remember little bits of it, like remembering a
dream, but most often it's just a blank. I have really got to get off

At that time I started adding SAM-e 400 mg daily for joint health. I noticed almost immediately that it is also a wonderful mood enhancer. It is 100% safe to take daily and does not counter-act with other supplements, however…It is not recommended for persons on bi-polar medications, and such persons should consult with their prescribing physician before taking SAM-e, as it could interfer with that class of drugs.

SAM-e should be taken on an empty stomach, as it is best absorbed in the small intestine. I take it first thing in the morning, wait about a half hour before eating breakfast. Then I eat and take the rest of my morning supplements. It seems strange that a supplement I take upon waking actually helps me sleep the following night, but it does. It's effect are that profound.
