I am watching a documentary called "Iraq For Sale; The War Profiteers" and in it a soldier says they have a name for this called "Food for Freedom". If you get fat, you will get an honorable discharge and you can then go to work as a private contractor five times as much money.
So there may be more to this than just poor quality food.

While the Armed services have the exercise part of the program correct as long as the USDA food pyramid determines the foods that are served they will have trouble keeping the recruits healthy.

Considering most rank and file US Military personnel, stationed throughout the world, consume abnormally large amounts of HFCS laden sodas daily(US Congressionally pork-barrel subsidized), is it any wonder the obesity, diabetes, cancer, hypoglycemia and cardio vascular rates are harming those protecting the remainder of US from the Axis Of Evil?

As a matter of fact, who needs Al Queda, cognac guzzling North Korean despots, or Iranian Mullah genocidal regimes, when our troops are taking lots of "friendly food & beverage chain fire" from the likes of the politicians under screaming liberal Nancy Pelosi, trying to make points for the next election in 2008?

Additionally, BOTH the Republicans and Democrats ARE allowing another AXIS OF EVIL, Big Food, Big Soda & Big Pharma, to harm us all here at home, in our kitchen pantries, or take and/or dine out economy, if we each do not protect #1, in the mirror.

It would not surprise me either to find out the more taxpayer monies are being waisted over at Homeland Security, trying to link terrorist sleeper cells to the production of HFCS, as an already PROVEN health weapon of mass destruction.
