It's hard to know what to think. The producers need fair recompense, too. But we all want free stuff and cheap stuff - but that is not necessarily a fair two-way transaction. It's similar to (not the same as)when people thought software piracy was okay, not taking into account all those who put their time into making it available. My question is - why does Congress need to pass a law? Can't the owners of the music rights set the price, and compete with each other for the business? Or negotiate a price with the stations/sites? So I tend to agree that Congress should not get involved, but it is paramount that all who endeavored to make a product get a competitive wage. Else, they would go out of business, making less music available to everyone. There is a strong tendency to paint everything in terms of the good guys and the bad guys, but they all contribute to our listening pleasure. Just my opinion. Duane

I play internet radio "Radio Paradise" in my studio in Pasadena at I did sign the petition to Congress. For over 3 year "Radio Paradise" provided the best commercial free music selection for my clients and I.

Unfortunately music label do not what to change the way they do business and would like to keep making the money an old way, by selling overpriced CD's. Fortunately for us the life is goes on and by supporting internet radio we can preserve our rights and force music labels to adapt and find new, listener friendly business models.

Sounds like the notoriously CORRUPT & CROOKED lawyers and lobbyists for the recording producers are behind this despot legislation to the benefit of no one, but an extremely few pockets being lined.
