How to prepare for the future? Every Christian denomination prays for "God's Kingdom to rule over the earth as it rules over the heavens" Also known as the "Lord's Prayer or the Our Father Prayer". Why do we pray for this Kingdom if we don't want it to come? So prepare to be those who are "Christ like" in their thinking, when he does take over this out of control world and sets everything straight. He has the power and the desire to do so. Many believe that time is very soon. So not to worry. Christ and his Father are in control.

I think Dr. Mecola should stick to medicine. His forays into retail, economics, frying pans, deodorants, sun lamps, metaphysics, and anything that catches his attention is of little or no use to most people and frankly cheapens his good name. Sure he's making lots of money from these tangential enterprises, but I don't think money is everything. I am sure his children would look up to him in a better light for being a doctor rather than a peddler of cheap wares. So he pulls data from the internet that may or may not be true, as anyone knows, there are no "one -handed economists". Dr. Mercola is not any more informed about what will or will not happen than the oracle at Delphi, so please Dr. Mercola, stick (or non-stick pans :-)) to medicine. We like you just fine for being a nice doctor.

A lot of the video's statistics about computer capacity come directly out of Ray Kurzweil's books. But what they don;t take into account is that even though we might have the processing speed of a human brain in 2013, we STILL won't know how to emulate a human brain in software. We have very little idea how the human brain actually works right now, and we won't have that info by 2013 either. (We will eventually, just not by 2013.)

Second, I find the statistic that technological knowledge will be doubling every 72 HOURS by 2010 really really hard to believe. Sorry, I just think this is wrong.

The stats are that Nintendo spent $140 in R&D in 2002 alone while the U.S. Gov't spent less than half of that on education. Glumbert also needs to list the stats on how much is being spent by the U.S. towards a never ending war against ?????????

I was able to leave a message and ask the guy who put together Shift Happens (Karl Fisch) what the music was - he said its a mix of three tracks from The Last of the Mohicans soundtrack. Awesome music - I counldn't get enough of it either!

Marketing statistics 101 folks, you can make numbers say anything you want them to say. Some of those numbers are real and do not mean much as they have been that way for centuries anyway. (Number of people in China and India). Some are a bit of a concern and some are just distortions but real non the less.

   Give me anything you want me to prove, pay me enough to both prove it and make my life comfortable and I will prove anything you want me to. If the pay is sunstantial enough, I can have it backed by any organizatoin you want to have backing it. Harverd, Cornell, Government agency, corporation, non profit organization, you name it, it's done as long as the money is there.

   Information can double everyday, who's going to read it all? The information right here that I am including goes towards the doubling of information right now. Anyone follow Tesla's works? He was way ahead of Edison. Guess what? Now a lot of his works are being developed and blowing everything away. Go check out Tesla Autoworks on line. Amazing car they made. 70lb engine. Delevoped over 80 years ago folks, and it's just coming to market today. And it does 0 to 60 faster than any gas engine in production. (No weight comparison).

   So information can double every 10 minutes, so what, just means better storage. Again, who's going to read it all? You may be smarter, but that does not make you richer in any area of life. I know idiots with lots of money and smart people with near nothing. Who's winning?  Information of little or no value gets you little or nowhere in life. And here's one for you, a specialist can be a generalist and a generalist can be a specialist. Again, go take a look at Tesla and you will understand.

From a student studying electrical engineering, I will tell you that this video will most likely be accurate. Maybe not the dates, but the info will be true. Technology will never stop growing. Computers are only going to get more fast and powerful. In the next 3-5 years people will be using their daily computers that will be 4 times as powerful as they are now. What people seem to be focusing on now is making a computer faster while making it the same size. Shift does happen; technology only expands.

Dr. Mercola this question is for U. I would like to send this news article to my son and daughter but "send this to a friend" has been removed from each news article whereas it was once on every news article you printed. Why was it removed? I am very disappointed and would like it to be put back on. Please advise.

Technical knowledge will always become outdated but wisdom never will.

The problem today is specialization. Especially in medicine. One doctor studies the throat, and another the eyeball and another the intestines. As if a human being can be separated into pieces. Who determines where the separations are? The idea of separation is the biggest fallacy of all. This fallacy kills. Another complete fallacy is the Cartesian mind-body split. The psyche quacks thrive on this lie.

This isn't a logic fallacy, but I think some of those statistics are misleading. "25% of the population in China with the highest IQs... is greater than the total population of North America." Big deal. That also means the "25% with the lowest IQs in China is greater than the total population of North America". You know what? "The middle 50% of IQs in China are double the population of North America". All that really says is that China's population is more than four times that of North America's. So, if you pick any 25% segment of their population, it will be greater than North America's.

I think the point that statistic is trying to make is, of China's total population what percentage have above average IQ's compared to the world, or compared to some level of high intelligence. What is that total number? What are the comparable numbers to the U.S.?

Granted, there's still a possibility China's smokes the U.S. as well given the quality of our school systems, but the statistics in the video don't really mean anything.

No problem; just become a Spirit filled Christian and the Word promises to lead you into all truth. I was always in jobs over my head or knowledge but the Lord showed me how to succeed. I am now an investment advisor and that continues today. The Word says He will lead you into all truth and no man has to teach you. That doesn't mean don't get educated but it does mean when you don't know He will show you through the Holy Spirit. God never intended for life to be a problem.

We are not the smartest people who ever lived and thinking we are keeps getting us into trouble. Some things you can count are: the majority are usually wrong and history always repeats itself. Everything in life is either relatonships or math. If you are weak in either you are headed for trouble.

I'm not necessarily certain that we should be "concerned"... surprised, maybe... encouraged, perhaps... full of ideas, even better -- but not concerned.

Fear is a trap -- people who promote fear are trapping us into believing that we are somehow less, weaker, poorer, and more victimized than we are, in order to claim power over us that they did not earn, and that we are not required to give. We do not have to fear, and, in fact, would be happier and healthier, with many more magnificent ideas to share if we would let go of our fear. EACH and every one of us has the potential for magnificence encoded into us.

I found this video fascinating. One thing that I was thinking, as I was watching the segment about how computers may, very soon, be able to out-process the human brain, was "I am glad that I am not my brain, or my body... that I am more than the sum of my parts, am infinitely creative and adaptive, and will never be able to be replaced as a 'creative, loving, leap-of-faith-making being' by a machine."
