I am a social worker in the inter-city schools. Nothing is better than a truly detailed car where every nook and crannie has been cleaned. Some of the chemicals may not be the greatest, like when you have the carpet and seats cleaned and other products. You will definitely want to let you car air out for days till the cleaner smells are gone.

The bad thing is the spots where spills occur a lot is between the seats in some cars and these are impossible to fully clean without pulling the seats out. So by this study it seems it would be worth it to have this done. It really makes a difference in the atmosphere of the interior of your car.

I used to detail cars some times and have done this. If you have it all cleaned but there is still stains in the carpet, under or between the seats, the smell may slightly persist, really showing up on hot days and such. Notice how many car fragrances people use, no wonder when you have milk or coffee spilled on the carpet and don't get it all up. lol

re: Are Mold and Bacteria Lurking in Your Car?

Hmmmm, penicillin in my car, or from Big Pharma?

I'll take my chances with my car.

;-)

Uncle Russ
