It is imperative that we know our producer. It is imperative that we read labels. It is imperative that we KNOW that the company we purchase our products from is honest and has our health in mind. Most companies out there are just there to make millions of dollars, that's it. Our health is not in their best interest. Make sure you research the company from which you purchase your food, your cleaning products and your personal and medicinal products , and READ the labels.

Mirdza
Helping People Lead Healthier Lives
http://www.MirdzasHealthSite.com

re: Knowing Where Your Food Comes From is Vital to Your Health

What up with congress bill S1082?
I hope I am not off topic here, however this introduced bill deals with nutrients and food bill S1082 called The Food and Drug administration Revitalization Act (key word used conveniently since it really revitalizes the power of the FDA not of our food) attempts to label supplements as drugs which could later restrict our acces to get supplements at health food stores etc. Has anyone heard of the outcome yet????? We should not alllow the FDA to attack dietary supplements yet they protect Pharmaceuticals like no end in sight. We need to call congressmen Hatch 202-224-5251 and Sen. Harkin 202-224-3254 to find out what the deal is with all these attempts and wished changes to the labeling of our food products and nutrients as drugs. Every time we turn around some new legisalation is being created to have more control on us as free people. Its getting ridiculous. Why can't they just micro-,manage the pushing of viagara instead of Vitamin C- or cordycepts????????

re: Knowing Where Your Food Comes From is Vital to Your Health

I have never until now run across anyone else who has that reaction to avacados. I refer to this as having an allergy to them to explain why I can't have even a sliver of avacado on anything I eat for lack of a better explanation although a true allergic reaction would involve hives or a rash or swelling of the throat, I believe. It's impossible to accurately describe the reaction I have which is, just as you said here, ulcer like pain which is excruciating. I'm intrigued by the information about the chocolate solution you've discovered. So how much chocolate does it take?Milk or dark or does that matter? Do you eat the chocolate after ingesting avacado? Would eating chocolate in advance of the avacado prevent the painful reaction entirely or have you been brave enough to try deliberate experimentation vs using chocolate to neutralize accidental ingestion? I don't have this problem with raw egg whites or anything besides avacado. I really wonder what causes it and how many others have this reaction. I am 57 and you're the first one I have heard mention it; no one I have mentioned it to has ever had this problem nor have I read about it before reading your comment today & I think it's probably highly unusual. Have you encountered others with the same reaction? I will be looking here hoping that you see this comment and can provide some answers. Just call me

Curious

Thanks in advance for any information you can share on the subject

re: Knowing Where Your Food Comes From is Vital To Your Health

There is currently debate in California as to whether to build water-holding reservoirs or not. I've recently discovered refractometers, which can indicate how nutritious your food is. Why has Dr. Mercola never mentioned these? It's even on the Weston A. Price Foundation site: http://www.westonaprice.org/farming/nutrient-dense.html

This seems like it would be an amazing resource that more people should know about.

re: Knowing Where Your Food Comes From is Vital To Your Health

Believing, or relying on, government regulators, to protect your health, is the comparable equivalent of putting Osama bin Laden in charge of US Homeland Security...in either case, the result is NOT going to be pretty.

God gave each of us a brain, and common sense; use it or lose it!

re: Knowing Where Your Food Comes From is Vital To Your Health

Comment deleted due to inappropriate content.
