It is difficult to care for a family. Our family has a no grain, no dairy diet. We have a "Victory Garden" and raise and slaughter rabbits for protein.

There was a good story on WFAA TV ch8 on May 5. I knew about the melamine in pet food fed to chickens but didn't know about enhanced chicken which is injected chicken broth and salt & I'm sure the broth has monosodium glutamate they do admit to it having Carrageenan so.... http://www.wfaa.com/sharedcontent/dws/wfaa/latestnews/stories/wfaa070504_lj_harris2.38ffc5d2.html hmm..arsenic, melamine, and now msg and salt and I really can't afford organic all I need is Regular chicken. I am dammed if I do and dammed if I don't..........

I just get such a heavy heart when I read articles like this. It just seems next to impossible without unlimited resources to feed our families truly wholesome food. The prayer before each meal that the food would nourish our bodies becomes ever so meaningful to me. I guess I'm too easily discouraged, but there's so much deception out there. I don't even know if paying more for food will actually accomplish the purpose. Maybe I just give up and leave it all in God's hands. It shouldn't have to cost so much to feed my family good food.

True locally grown and naturally fed, antibiotic free range, organic, chicken TASTE BETTER (and is MUCH SAFER that chain store bought) also.

No doubt the NEXT scam discovered will be factory chickens being fed dead chickens, and we'll get a poultry version of BSE (Mad Cow) in the HUMAN food chain (via poultry meat or eggs) just to keep things interesting.

No one at USDA and FDA is going to protect YOUR health better than YOU!

What do you think God is trying to tell us or Mother Nature for that matter? When you start connecting the dots from tainted foods, disappearing honeybees and virus contaminated produce (ecoli, etc.) there seems to be one clear message: "Go back to your roots!" The overall theme of most health promoting websites such as Mercola.com is that we should be eating a diet of living raw foods (90% or more). If you don't where the food came from or what is in it, then don't eat it! The future of food = grow your own or have a co-op garden/farm/community garden.
