Dear Readers,

In the mid-1970s, I was diagnosed with ADHD, at the time that I was in the third and fourth grades. I was prescribed Ritalin 5 mg twice per day. The end result actually occured in my adolescent and teenage years, when I developed schizotypal personality disorder, which diagnosis was finally given a name in 1990 when I was in the US Army, serving active duty because I could not find a job in civilian life.

I had been in some kind of mental, psychological, or psychiatric therapy throughout all stages of my 42 years of life. Thanks to Ritalin, and Seroquel, and Clonazepam, and Effexor XR, I was made the poster child for the reasons why no one should ever be placed on prescribed medicines unless it is a last resort to preserve life.

Thank God that the doctor removed me from Ritalin, and that I took myself off Seroquel, Clonazepam, and Effexor XR. After a car accident that could have been fatal, but instead only burst a tire on my car, I woke up (literally) and realized that I must take charge of my own health care.

Parents, if any doctor prescribes psychotropic medicines for your child, unless it is a dead last resort, tell that doctor to leave you alone. The risks aren't worth the control of your child.

Why do they prescribe these drugs to kids? There is only one answer. The almighty dollar. You would think they would want those on Prozac to stay alive, but it seems they just don't care. They don't care about you. They care about your wallet. Once you've bought the pills, you're on your own. It doesn't matter what the side effects are, they will sell them to you. Most prescription drugs are worse than illegal drugs now, aren't they? And they advertise on television. And what the hell is restless leg syndrome? Are they kidding me? This goes beyond anything I've ever seen.

As a single mother of a child with adhd this bothers me that the world can do this to our world. I trusted my child in the hands of Doctors believing that Stratara would be good for my child.
Now that he is getting older it isn't working and teachers and schools can not handle it. I am tired of this and to find this web site because of a friend I am so happy to see this out.
I wish my doctor would believe this isn't the answer to my son. I told him by what we eat etc. He said we have no proof well I am going to give him this web sight so he can see I am not the only parent out there going through this alone. We as parents want the real truth to our loved ones.

Once again I will post this...Not only do I have a huge problem with this (anti-depressants/etc.) BUT the school system is insidiously EVIL in the United States. I took my children overseas, homeschooling is NOT enough as someone can accuse you and the next thing the "authorities" are at your door seeing what type of parent you are and your children get taken away from you...

It's really frustrating to read how people will come up with a conclusion just because of a Google search. IF anyone is to make an accusation then please post your source. Don't tell me the reader I have to go find out the results may not be the same. All I read after doing the search was more of the same accusations about scientology and nothing that made the direct connection where says aha here it is.

So an important topic of drugging our kids gets obscured by drive by commentary. The local pubik gummet school wanted to put our grandson on medis due to his lack of attention. Hey he's 8 years old and needs a physical outlet. He did not get on meds and plays ball and is doing well.

It really is our fault we gave the gummet the power to take our kids away by not fighting it because hey it's not my kid that it's happening to. The police have become militarized and to much into a gestapo mentality and the intimidation is working very well. We have a very sick society that is driven by corporate greeds and government greed and grab for power to tighten control over the masses.

Wave you flags boys and keep on believing your free....yeah sure......just fail to inspect your car, register your car pay taxes on your paid up home, etc.....

Until we as a people realize we have a very morally ill nation we are pissing in the wind whining about all these problems. Mean time educate your loved ones and don't worry about the rest.....you just cannot break the success of the media programming methodology............

I have taken one of the controversial drugs talked about, and it was the only time in my life that I ever had suicidal thoughts. One doctor told me that depressed people typically have suicidal thoughts, and that therefore it probably wasn't the drug; another doctor told me I was too ignorant to know anything. Naturally, I quit both doctors. This particular drug, however, didn't exhibit this side effect until more than two weeks after I stopped taking it, and this side effect persisted very intermittently for several months after I quit taking it. I am sure the suicidal thoughts were caused by the drug, because this happened to my mother also. People who trust a government to evaluate these things responsibly are extremely foolish.

I once said that they can't take our humanness away from us, that they can't control us to such an extent, but it looks like they are, because we are letting them.

This type of harassment & pressure from the school happened to me during the nineties when my son was in 3d &4th grade. I saw no true ADHD at home, just a smart creative boy who was an only child & got very excited about interacting with others his age. He was smart yet bored silly in school and he was failing because he hated home work and he wanted to socialize all with other kid all the time. Luckily I had a close friend who was a great teacher, I asked him to spend the day with my son & give me feed back. He told me my son needed a firm reign, clear directions and most importantly he needed to be challenged. This reinforced my feelings that a drug was not what he needed. When I read that these drugs stop the growth process I was certain that I would never allow my son to take it. I had to threaten the School & Social workers with legal action to get them to stop pressuring me. The next year we changed schools, my son did better but he never enjoyed school again because of the bad experience. Today he is fine.

I couldn't agree more with you Russ. Merck and all these Healthcare associations were inspired by the Devil to lie, cheat, deceive and take advantage of the public with thier bullcrap bout wanting to help people and give them health and vitality. you pharmacuetical companies think we're stupid enough to believe you really care about us? you just want to leech off our health and resources with your useless and totally dangerous drugs. take a hint for once, drugs were originally intended to save people's lives in car crashes and other life threatening accidents. that is all they're good for. I thank God for people like Dr.Mercola, Kevin Trudeau and Jordan Rubin who care enough to tell people the truth bout health and expose the corruption of companies who pretend to care, but could care less bout the well being of people. keep up the good work. I for one will never take drugs for any medical condition. we don't need them, never did, never will. God gave us on earth what we needed to be nourished, stregthened and for longevity.

Childrens systems are so barraged these days with pesticides, additives, preservatives, poisons, toxins - and yet we wonder why there are these conditions.

Do they really not see THE FACTS? When foods are changed to simple, non processed, non-refined, non irrirated, FRESH ORGANIC, mostly fruits and vegetables and maybe some raw milk...........that what follows are cures or advances so profound in the child's condition and quality of life that to not share this info with parents.should be a crime of the first degree.

How can these doctor's turn their heads to ways that obviously make great strides in the life of the child and their families? Do they not take an oath of wellness anymore or is it an Oath of Money?

Amen again Russ! Homeschooling was the only consideration for me. Having two very active boys i can't imagine what the public school system would do to them. One of my boys, although only four right now, is extremely active. Boys are getting a bad rap, they need to play and should be able to. Most boys aren't ready for formal education until 7 or 8 years old!! No wonder we have 5 year old boys who are angry and discouraged and paying the price at the hands of ignorant adults. Pray for a way to keep your kids at home, where they belong.

A dear friend of ours son and daughter-in-law almost lost their children because the school wanted to put the children on Ritalin. They had to take them out of public school and home school them.
