Remember - everything that goes ON the skin, goes into our body, whether we ingest it into our mouth or not. So, putting honey on the leg of a diabetic person can actually cause harm, if too much is put on . Raw honey, like Dr. Mercola suggested, might be the best way to go if honey wants to be used. However, I suggest the use of PURE essential oils, though, like those from Young Living Essential Oils to combat infections, including the diabetic foot ulcer. Essential oils are highly antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral, and help our bodies get rid of infection very fast without the use of antibiotics. To learn more about these oils, please go to http://www.YoungLiving.org/mirdza2. In our home we don't use drugs anymore, we use only oils and that is why I highly recommend them. Not all oils are created equal, though. If the oils have been adulterated in any way, they can cause more harm then good. Make sure you do your research. Make sure you don't buy them at just any store, not even your local health store. I have researched Young Living, that is why I use and recommend these oils - you don't need to take my word for it though - please do your own research as well.

Live healthy!

re: How Honey Can Help Wounds Heal Better

I love honey and this just gives me one more reason to eat it yah!

re: How Honey Can Help Wounds Heal Better

While working in Florida last year for my niece-Knox Honey Farms-they crop honey in both Florida and Wisconsin, a little tick had halfway buried his-self in my wrist. The next two days, my wrist, hand and knuckles swelled so bad I couldn't use my hand at all. The other workers kept on me, so I broke down and went to a clinic-ONLY-for a blood test I thought they had agreed to give me. Well, not to my suprise at all, a big I DON"T KNOW from the doc, I don't think it is in your blood stream yet-(WHAT YOUR KIDDING RIGHT) but that will be eighty dollars. He assured me NO lymes disease existed in Florida, only up north. Take these antibiotics. Sorry doc but no thanks, I have already done my research. I took crushed garlic bulbs, charcoal, limon and mixed it with honey to make it stick, and wrapped my wrist in plastic to hold it on and keep it from drying up. About two days later, all was back to normal. Now that didn't suprise me. I learned of the charcoal from a health food store, and how it helped a girls spider bite. I learned about the lemon and garlic from a chemist and how it helped a spider bite. I knew about honey already. Oh yea, the doctor also assured me there was NO CURE for lymes disease. Well, while I was doing a little research, I found that 14 doctors in (I can't spell Massatuchets so some where around Boston) were curing lymes disease until the fda took 10 of the doctors license and put them of them in jail for breaking the law. I wish I had kept the web address. Maybe that is why we have no cure for anything today! I certianly believe it is. Anyway, I don't know if I was on my way to lymes, but I took care of it WITHOUT the doctor and his medicine. The way I figure, if it is out there, I might catch it. So I try to keep up with the latest info and keep stuff here to SUPPRESS IT! Just like some other's do (not mentioning any one in paticular).

re: How Honey Can Help Wounds Heal Better

This post was deleted because it violated our Terms Of Use :
Comment does not pertain to the topic of the article or does not provide value or insight to the discussion. Honey is made from nectar, wax from pollen. The problem has always been that stealing the honey means the bees have nothing to eat for the winter, so apiarists feed them sugar to keep them alive. Obviously the more honey taken for profit, the weaker the bees will be. Also if the bees are not eating nectar the honey will be diluted in polysaccharides and the mix of different sugars will be different. Bee keepers must not take too much.
http://www.rirdc.gov.au/reports/HBE/05-027.pdf<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
