I think we all have intuition but ignor it. We are distracted by too many things. Some of us have something even better which is the Holy Spirit inside us. Even still we can be distracted from paying attention to the Holy Spirit. Let me quote the Bible to the ladies critical of males (I can say this because I realize I am guilty & it takes one to know one and I know your fault ladies because I have the same problem) Proverbs 15:2 "The tongue of he wise makes knowledge acceptable but the mouth of fools spouts folly." If a guy or a gal is not listening to you, maybe it is not the listener but the speaker, or maybe both. If you fail to succeed in communicating, or if you fail in love, go to the source of love - God. Read the instruction book - and practice & pray (GOD listens, Matt 7:7 "ask & ye shall receive"). No one can do divine things in the flesh. The flesh leads to death. The Spirit gives Life. This is a great website & the info is good but the spiritual trumps the physical. We will all die physically. If we are forgiven by God in Jesus, we will rise again & live - & by the way won't need intuition then since God will cause us to understand all the Truth - cool !!!!!!!!!!

I think a huge part of having intuition is trusting it and not being afraid to "sound stupid". I had a dream I was pregnant when I was on the pill. A few days later I knew I was pregnant so I bought a test to confirm. When I had the dream I was maybe a few days pregnant. I also knew she was a girl right away. I didn't think, I knew. I also have a good intuition with animals that allows me to work with the rouge horses no one else wants. When I was about 7 my parents wanted a puppy. I said "dont get her, she's going to die soon". They got her anyways. A month later she died of a brain tumor. She had no symptoms til she died. A short while later I wanted a kitten. At the shelter there was a kitten who was on death's door (they were about to euathinize him he was so sick). My parents said "he's gonna die, don't get him" I said "he'll be just fine". I had that cat for 10 years, best cat I've ever met. He died because I told my parents to take him to the vet but they told me he was just fine. They finally took him when he stopped eating. He had kidney failure a few months back, exactly when I told them to take him.

In all of these cases, I had no idea WHY I felt those things, I just did so I believed them to be true. I think everyone does this very frequently, they just ignore it because lacks the "logic" we are taught is the be all end all of knowledge.

Good article, but it's really only covering "old school" stuff that was known a decade or so ago. For the new take in intuition, you have to go to HeartMath. (You can go through my profile to my site's resources section to learn more.) The heart also has neurons, and unlike the gut neurons, they're not completely controlled by the brain. Instead, the "brain in the heart" actually sends message to the brain in the head. There is a true two-way interaction.

And how powerful is the heart's intuition? According to their studies, it can be trained to be correct for future events--those that haven't been determined yet! In other words, there's some quantum effect, not just a mental/emotional matching game. Fascinating stuff!

If anyone is interested in learning all about the brain in our gut then get a hold of a copy of The Second Brain by Michael D. Gershon, MD. It is an absolutely fascinating journey through the gut from your mouth to your (not to be crude but) anus. It is a bit technical with a lot of medical "jargon" , but it does prove to be very educating. Anybody studying nutrition or health andwellness must read this book. I think it is crucial for individuals who want to learn, whether it be for themselves or families, about what happens to food/drink once it enters your mouth. I believe that life and death begins in the gut. Every single thing we put to our lips will affect every function of our body. And educating yourself about the enteric nervous system, aka the second brain, will prove to be an awakening. You will truly be able to understand those "gut" feelings and intuitions that you have. Check it out.

Him - what is that smell?
Me- cilantro, does it bother you?
Him - no, but I need to eat it (he has never said this in his life)

Let me break down what intuition is to me. We all have self and the ego self or the parent and the child within. As you can see, most are children dressed up in adult suits. When we are born into this world, we are born into silence, compassion, unconditional love and with -ease. It is our family, society and all their memes that create and program our noise, judgements and conditional love.

We are born with the self and ego self and the ability for one to acknowledge and support the other. That support and empathy is what inuition is. It is the self trusting, acknowledging and supporting the ego self and vice versa.

Our inner child or adult is always talking to and with us. Through disease and all the back ground noise we create to deflect self, we are unable to feel that. All inuition is, is self trusting and listening to self. We all have it, but how many actually love (unconditionally) and listen to self?

Yes, there are basic patterns, that might be labeled "intuition", to areas that are reoccurring, in various paths of inquiry or research, I deal in daily.

However, what is perceived as intuition to one, might in fact be logical reasoning, or deduction, to someone else, at a very rapid speed.
