Sorry but I was only able to watch 2minutes of this video. I live in an inland city in Australia near a chicken farm and have heard some awful stories of what happens there. I haven't bought commercial chickens in years. The trouble is that because of the drought here my local supplier of organic meat and poultry has cut right back on stock etc trying to keep what they have kept healthy. I stocked up as much as I could when they started slaughtering but I have only so much freezer space. I have to start sourcing alternative suppliers. As I am a high protein metabolic type I find I function much better on animal protein.

The video was disturbing. Maybe that's how they do it in India, but not in East Texas!

I lived on my father-in-law's broiler farm for 2 years and helped out with the chickens. We raised them from the day they were born to the day they went to market. (40,000 at a time). we did not "debeak" them or inject them with anything!

I remember fondly cuddling double armloads of newborn baby chicks! I enjoyed watching them as they grew up.

We kept them well-fed, plenty of fresh water (the same deep well water we drank - no flouride, no chlorine), not crowded, as close to ideal temperature as possible, and as happy and healthy as possible.

We kept the houses as clean as possible, no strong ammonia smells. After all, our house was only 50 feet from their house! Happy, healthy chickens make big chickens!

I was always sad to see them go, but I know we were good care takers while we had them.

They went to a local commercial processing/packing plant. I would eat their chicken.

i started to watch this, but had to stop it... i had a chicken that i raised for her eggs. my family fell in love with her - she used to tap on the door to come inside as she was an 'inside chicken' and used to nap with the dogs or in someone's lap! she died this past year and am looking to find myself another chicken! they can be really good pets (and the eggs are a bonus)!

A company in the UK; Bernard Mathews much to the surprise of many British consumers; was bringing into the country Turkeys bred in Eastern European counties; the site next door to a known Avian Flu; I love that term; Bird flu outbreak.

This company brought the birds back to the UK; we heard of a bird flu outbreak and they had to put down thousands of birds; just in case.

Here is the best part........the British Taxpayer now has to pay them compensation of £600,000 for loss of stock; shocking when they knew, it is reported that they were breeding Turkeys next doot to an area of known Avian flu.

I did forget to mention that in the UK, the more you break the law, the more you are paid for that inconvenience.

No, the sky is not falling, or going to fall.

Just like there was never any lobbying for massive funding to address rogue large meteorites from coming to hit and destroy the Earth, until the military industrial complex looked STUPID (I'm not trying to be redundant) building Star Wars (and still is) for a Soviet enemy that does not exist, and it's difficult to redeploy hard assets, like subs and ICBM's, onto moving Al Queda targets, without a great deal collateral damage.

The ILLUSION of fear is instilled, by vested interests, to gain $$$ and lots of it for NO NET benefit to those purportedly being protected, but rather those receiving the funding.

This video give me about 1 billion more reasons to eat organic! The shock value is incredible! Yes I know that organic animals are killed as well so they can be eaten. I am certain through research that 99% of what you see in this video does not happen on organic farms, etc. Except for the killing in the end, with hopefully good intenstions!

Although I am not a vegan or vegetarian (doesn't work for me) I am a member of PETA, and I also support other groups that are working for laws to enforce humane methods of raising and slaughtering animals for food.

I am grateful that I can afford to buy my meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, and milk from such farmers, but I realize that many people can't - I couldn't afford it not so very long ago. When wholesome, raw, unhomogenized milk is $8.00 a gallon instead of $2.00-$4.00 and a 5lb chicken costs $20.00 instead of $3.00-$4.00, it isn't difficult to understand why many people can't afford it, and those who need to use WIC don't have any choice at all.

Organic produce costs more, too. I've seen that comparison Dr. Mercola has posted, but honestly, it doesn't even come close to reality - it doesn't account for snacks (children need snacks, as do a lot of adults who do better with smaller meals), she didn't even include milk in the so-called non-organic menu, and people who really are poor or on a very tight budget don't drink expensive bottled coffee or go to Starbucks, they brew they're own coffee. I know few people who really eat the way that woman thinks people eat. I never ate that way, my kids don't feed they're families that way, my friends don't feed they're families that way, and when I taught preschool, it was a rare child who was given only packaged convenience foods. Most people I know use those foods sometimes, but certainly not most of the time. If I made up MY shopping list for a week and did the same comparison, the organic & grass fed list would be far, far more expensive.

Utterly disgusting! Once again, "live" living foods give fresh air to the cells in our bodies. However, "dead" meat that has been brutally abused and tortured harbors negative energy which breathes disease into the cells of your body.

If you do choose to consume chicken, please make sure that it is local, free-range and organic.
