I am a Canadian, and I'm excited about what Ron Paul is saying. If the most powerful nation in the world can throw out its central bank and establish a stable, debt-free monetary system, then perhaps it is possible elsewhere, like here in Canada with the repeal of the Bank Act and the abolition of the Bank of Canada.

Finally, someone has enough visibility, and guts to state how corrupt the Fed is. It is a crime that someone, somewhere is paying interest on every single $ in circulation. All fiat money is created out of nothing when someone, some company, or some government borrows from a bank, and then interest is paid on that money forevermore. It is a system that holds all of us in a perpetual state of economic slavery, without even knowing it is happening!

It is possible to transition to a system of government-administered debt-free money, wherein personal income taxes could be eliminated, and debt-free money could exist. Best of luck to Ron Paul, I hope he becomes president and isn't assassinated before he can implement his ideas.

I also think that the debt-monetary system has a huge evironmental impact, since it encourages reckless borrowing, and results in all of us living at ~20X our means, and thus has 20X the environmental impact. With a debt-free system, we would have to live more within our means (and be free because of it), and the environmental impact is significantly lessoned.

While I have been aware of the platform of Ron Paul since I saw him interviewed in Aaron Russo's film, America: From Freedon to Fascism, and like much of what he says he stands for and what he speaks for and against, I still have GREAT reservations of going near the Republican party-- no matter how he's couched in it as a libertarian.
That doesn't say, I won't change my views down the road, but that, I still need to observe over time.

While I no longer take stock in the "two (or even three or more) party system"-- it's been made a sham of-- there is one individual, listed under the Dems banner who I totally support, and he is Congressman Dennis Kucinich of Ohio. He too, has an enduring track-record of deep integrity, is a highly intelligent person, with strong ethics, and a great deal of courage. I've heard and read his speeches over the years, and find his values and views decent, humane, sane, and progressive. He too is worthy of being president.

That said, Kucinich is not rich (relative to buying his way into office, like most of the other prospective candidates). Also, as I pick up, people judge him almost immediately on appearances-- which I assume is done in great ignorance. Thirdly, the current so-called "powers that be", fully knowing his honesty and integrity and brains and spirit, do their best to make him a laughing stock, defame him, ignore him (via their controlled media), etc. That in itself is enough to convince me, that they are indeed fearful that, if he did get the attention in the world (he clearly deserves) and more people heard of him and came to understand him and his principled platform, they would vote him in office YESTERDAY!

You still have time to consider alternatives on up to the election-- please give him your attention and consideration also, by visiting his website and learning all you can about him-- from the past and in the coming days.

As much as I try to remain optomistic, I can't help but draw a parallel to John Kennedy's popularity, and his subsequent death for defying the "powers that be," those individuals who truly run the USA, like Big Pharma.

I would suggest that threatening to unravel the Fed would be reason enough to eliminate him, or in the least to defame and undo his efforts at regulating the United States government's policies. The government will not allow his interference and has too much to lose to allow Senator Paul to continue his subversive path.

If I were he, I would hire my own bodyguards...

However, I do recognize, that we all should support these men and help guard them with our very lives, because they are some of a rare breed of humanity: THINKERS!

Ron Paul votes for amnesty for illegal aliens

This is confirmation for ANYONE who might have been hooked into believing that Ron Paul is a good guy. Aside from this he voted for most favored nation status for Communist China at least twice that we know of. What do you think of Ron Paul NOW?!

He introduces look-good legislation to drag people's attention away from the local and state governments -- where the REAL ATTACK ON AMERICANS IS HAPPENING.

If we were to do some checking we would probably find confirmation, too, of what I've been told by several people, and what I read in one letter to a constituent from a U.S. Congressman... that is: They are NOT representatives of their American 'constituents'. They are representatives of the U.S. Government, Inc.

I don't want to burst your bubble guys but if I had a choice to vote for president if would be Jim Trafficant (who is now in jail thank to those who wanted to keep his mouth shot) and DEFINITELY the choice of voting would be WRITE IN ballot, you know the one that is not electronically traced but rather to put your vote on paper. You can request it as if you would be "out of your voting area"............look what happened to the last presidential elections.......

Ron Paul is a lot better than other candidates, but he does too have few "issues".........why otherwise he would have gone that far with his campaign.............hmmmm

USA is not what it used to be let's say 200 years ago.....

Ron Paul is our only hope to a return to Constitutional government and sound true economy. I have a gut feeling that if he does not get elected, then our country will be on a destructive path of no-return and one in which we will be balkanized. We are at a cross-roads and if we do not make the right choice NOW, then tomorrow will be too late. Ron Paul is at the PERFECT stage NOW and its the right time with his experience both in the private and government sector. He is very seasoned and at the prefect age NOW and today we must make the choice to either SINK or SWIM. With Ron Paul we will all SWIM to the finish line. Please support him and vote for him. Interesting; Ron Paul (I'm not a Libertarian) nailed it when spoke about the causes behind 9-11. Of course he stated the obvious, at least, to those who are paying attention. My concern about the Libertarian approach is based on the question: if in power who will control big business, if not Big Government? I know, I know, Big Government does not do it now.

I'm amazed! Ron Paul would be powerless as a president because the Washington political machine would grind him up just as they did George W........Both the right and left wing would oppose him on everything he tries!..............Much better to vote for someone who would keep the extremist Muslims in check. Folks they are waging terrorism on 6 continents and if you look at Europe you will see chaos in France, England, and Germany which will only get worse............Better look at the big picture and realize just how precarious our position is!

Before Ron Paul can get elected, he has to be nominated by delegates at the Republican National Convention which will take place in St. Paul, Minnesota. September 1-4, 2008. I only saw some post debate comments and interviews. The big negative I saw was the fact that his face changed to what I can describe as embarassed or worried look when asked some questions. Although I read how well he did in the debate, when he is SEEN, his facial expressions (for whatever reason) will sadly bring him down.

I agree with Ron Paul on many issues. Does anyone have any info on what Ron Paul's record/stand on reproductive freedom and choice? The bottom line/litmus test for me/to get my vote, the candidate must be a strong advocate of reproductive freedom and choice.
