This is a bit off-topic and should really go with the cream cheese posts, but I need someone to see this.
I'm using the Nourishing Traditions recipe for making whey with cream cheese as a by-product. It doesn't say whether to cover it or not while it sits there on my counter for 4 days. I used a dish towel to keep the dust out, but should I have used something airtight instead? Thank you!

re: Deceptive Ads Promoting Milk as Weight-Loss "Cure" The USDA/FDA went after similar claims made by the peddlers of coral calcium a few years ago, nearly running them off the earth altogether. Then those same calcium claims showed up in dairy advertising?

John Robbins, author of Diet for a New America, went over those dairy claims extensively. At one time, the dairy industry even touted a pat of butter as a great weight loss tool.

I'm sure they would do the same thing now if given the chance.

re: Deceptive Ads Promoting Milk as Weight-Loss "Cure" One is an exclusive milk diet, calorie restricted. They compare it to a regular non-restricted diet and to some other sort of calorie-restricted diet. The milk diet outperforms the others and they attribute it to ease of adherence, not anything particular about the milk. It's easy to pour a glass and drink it. I haven't seen the research related to the 2 cups of milk a day (or whatever it is), but I think that's a calorie restricted diet as well. It isn't a big surprise to me that restricting calories would lead to more weight loss than not restricting calories.

Amanda

re: Deceptive Ads Promoting Milk as Weight-Loss "Cure" What they leave out is how or when. By the time your child is an adult, his or her teeth may be so decaded they can't chew, so they'll lose weight. Or worse, as the body breaks down from whatever heartbreaking disease that one may incur, you will probably lose weight.

re: Deceptive Ads Promoting Milk as Weight-Loss "Cure" End

Besides being ultra pasteurized, full of hormones, antibiotics and begin highly denatured, most conventional milk know a day is just sugar!
