Do you want to end up weighing what a cow does? I wonder if that is where the expression "she looks like a fat cow " came from.
I might be wrong, but i am beginning to think that we should not really be eating anything from animals larger than we are if we tend to carry too much weight. . I know that body builders welcome the extra poundage, in the form of testosterone built muscle, that cow's milk gives them.. but take a look at the records and see just how many of these body God's suffer from heart attacks at a young age. I know one, who i took care of in the cardiac care unit of a hospital in New York. He didn't look near as powerful, lying in that bed, than he did on the cover of the magazine he was in a month before.
.
In addition, would someone like to comment on the fact, that i think I heard that goat's milk has a smaller molecule that is more like mother's milk, than cow's milk is>?

re: We ARE Making a Difference!

                                                Hello all!
This is my first ever comment on mercola.com, those i've been a subscriber for a long time.
It is very unfortunated what is happening in the US regarding the interdiction of selling raw milk in some of the states.
I
must say that I am a fortunated person to live in a country (Romania)
that still holds to it's traditional farming practices and allows the
selling of any kind of milk. We buy weekly suplies of fresh cow's
milk, goat milk and sheep's milk, as well as cream, cheese and fresh
farm eggs. I don't know what would i do if i wouldn't be able to buy
this suply as it represents the main source of my diet along fresh
vegetables, fruits and nuts.

re: We ARE Making a Difference!

Hi ,This is my first post but I have been reading Dr. Mercola's site for some time. My question is ,What is the difference between raw goats milk and raw cows milk? I was always told for years that goats milk was far better than cows milk. I have checked out raw milk locally. It is illegal to sell here in Indiana, but a local farm has a cowshare program. They do not have any shares available and I can't afford that right now anyway. My question is, some of these farms sell raw milk pet products. They don't appear to be anything different than what we could eat if we choose to. Are they labeled for pets because of pasteurization laws? They drive the tank truck down the road, and then all the milk is past your eyes!

For everyone's info (FEI): Pasteurization was invented & implemented prior to the invention of refrigeration as a means to prevent rapid spoilage. Unrefrigerated raw milk spoils within hours (not sure how many, depends how warm, too) but keeps awhile in the fridge. Probably not as long but long enough to enjoy it. "For your safety" many states 'outlawed' raw milk, as if no one could tell when milk spoiled! The myth that raw milk is contaminated with terrible disease organisms apparently has not gotten around to the calves whose lives depend on it, however. So far every instance of ANY contaminated milk including pasteurized has always occurred AFTER pasteurization during 'processing' (handling prior to bottling).

I was told that here in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey it is illegal to sell raw milk so I was surprised to just now see sources listed at RealMilk and now I will have to try it! No listings yet for Hawaii, sorry about that papamaui. Wherever States have 'protected' us from the valuable enzymes in the name of safety from spoilage, people can inform their legislatures that out here in the Real World of the 21st century we now have refrigeration to keep our raw milk fresh, so they can lift their ancient outdated bans on raw milk, and refocus their attention on the quality of processing as opposed to mandating unnecessary pasteurization.

I suppose pasteurized milk may keep longer in the fridge and sale dating might have to reflect that. So be it, t

re: We ARE Making a Difference!

Dr. Mercola, So below is the progress from unhealthy to healthy:
-Conventional pasteurized skim milk - worst of the worst
-Conventional pasteurized whole milk - next worst
-Organic pasteurized milk - better (no rGBH or insulin-like growth factor 1)
-Milk from grass-fed cows (organic) - even better (more omega-3 and less omega-6 and CLA)
- Milk from grazing grass-fed cows unpasteurized milk (organic) - Best (contains all the vitamins, enzymes, probiotics (good bacteria) and equal omega-3/omega-6 ratio and CLA)

Hey I drink raw cow's milk and I love it. I can not drink unpasteurized milk as it upsets my stomach ( I must not produce Lactase -the enzyme that breaks down lactose sugars ). My kids drink it too, but my wife only tried it once in cereal, but at least she drinks organic milk now. I think that is a good thing. Hopefully at some point she will lose her indoctrinated fear that unpasteurized milk is bad. And that whole milk will not make her gain weight vs. low fat milk. Fat is good...fat doesn't make people fat (that is natural fats like coconut oil and omega-3 and organically good saturated fats from milk/beef from grass-fed cows).

So that's my opinion.

P.S.
