Ms. Tuttle's EFT looks interesting. EFT mirrors a lot of the 'suppressed' writings of around 100 years ago, ''The Master Key System'' by Charles Haanel was banned by the Church for most of the 20th Century for being too powerful, Until it 'resurfaced' about 15 years ago, now being back in print. Think about it, if you have power over yourself, it takes away power from the clergy! U.S. Andersen is also a marvelous author, and the amazing, but simple reads by author Vernon Howard just may put 'shrinks' out of business, if these works were better known to the public.

re: 10 Simple Strategies to Eliminate Pointless Worries

All are very interesting comments. As I read them, I thought back to a few days ago when I went through a spell. Man, was I fit to be tied! I didn't know if I was worring about the past, the future or what. All I know, I was more than totaly stressed out. All day for no reason I could think of, I was so upset and anxious I couldn't even do anything with myself. I kept trying to find what was it. No answer. Something had to happen because I can't remember the last time I was in a shape like that. Then, after I couldn't stand myself anymore, I took a st. johns wort pill and after a while finally calmed down. Then I began doing EFT and finally I thought I might have found the trouble. Could it have been something I ate. I had for a late night snack the night before, and for breakfast that morning a bowl of the same cereal. I don't guess I can say which brand, but it is one of the well known originals. I stayed up until 2PM still fighting the jitters that night before I came back to myself, and thought about it. There was no other explination. Unless, one of those upsetting thoughts came from my subconcious that I heard sometimes can, and ate at me. Wow, am I glad that's over. However, I believe that sometimes the unaware thoughts I have can create havoc so I am guessing it's a toss up of what it could have been. But, I haven't ate anymore cereal. Come to think of it, I just don't feel so right when I do eat that kind of food. Maybe I'll refrain from it .

re: 10 Simple Strategies to Eliminate Pointless Worries

I know from personal experience, that worry brings sickness with it. Physical sickness. When I decided to not let worry have any place in my life I noticed that my health increased greatly. I used to go to the doctor 2 to 3 times a week. I hardly go even once a year now...other than for checkups.

I too really liked the tip about looking at yourself when you "believe someone is making you angry". My pastor taught on this one Sunday quite a while back. He told everyone to point at themselves and say, "I make me so angry."

re: 10 Simple Strategies to Eliminate Pointless Worries

For many years I spent a great deal of time and energy worrying due to my chronic illness and pain. Now, the totally new and so much healthier person that I am, thanks to following the wonderful advice and learning found here at Mercola.com., can take the time to savor the intense thrill of being alive! I have also found that deep-breathing and some gentle yoga exercises have really helped me to cast aside my concerns and concentrate on wellness. I believe that prayer and having a thankful heart helps too.

re: 10 Simple Strategies to Eliminate Pointless Worries

They only person who controls your reactions is you. All the suggestions are very practical, and like Uncle Russ says they work.

Mary

re: 10 Simple Strategies to Eliminate Pointless Worries

Fear creates irritability, creates anger, creates worry, creates inability to let go!
- 5 Elemental Acupuncuture

re: 10 Ways to Avoid Messing Up Your Life

Very sound, sane, and sober suggestions here, and they WORK!!!
