It has long been known that obesity can lead to cancer. But a new study for the first time links being overweight with a number of less common forms of the disease.
An analysis of 144 published studies, which examined some 282,000 men and women, found that obesity can double the risk of several cancers.
Cancers newly shown to be associated with obesity included blood cancers such as adult leukemia, multiple myeloma, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
