More U.S. Retailers Give BPA the Boot

Canada's proposed ban on bisphenol-A (BPA), a hormone-like chemical in baby bottles and other plastic, has spurred U.S. retailers and legislators to try to phase out use of the ingredient.

Though no federal agency has moved to limit exposure to BPA, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services found "some concern" that low levels of BPA cause changes in behavior and the brain, prostate gland, mammary gland and the age at which girls enter puberty.

Retailers and manufacturers including Toys ‘R’ Us, Wal-Mart, Nalgene, and Playtex said they plan to phase out use of the chemical.

"....said they plan to phase out use of the chemical."

or to put it in more truthful words:

"We will offload all of our stockpiles on some unsuspecting consumers before we start selling the ones without BPA..."

My thoughts exactly!  Good grief!  Just eliminate the toxins!  I take my trash out and burn it!(I live on a farm)  I don't phase it out gradually!
