Exercise Prevents Addiction

Recent research has presented tantalizing clues that physical activity might spur changes in the brain which can prevent addiction to drugs or alcohol.

A study found tweens and teens who exercise daily are half as likely to smoke as their sedentary fellows, and 40 percent less likely to experiment with marijuana.

Exercise may invigorate neurochemicals that sense and reinforce pleasure.
