Walk Away From Your Memory Problems

A study has found that walking for 2 and a half hours a week can significantly improve memory problems for those over the age of 50. Improvement in memory occurred both over the course of the six month trial, and 6 and 12 months after completion.

The trial placed 170 people who had reported memory problems into two groups. One group continued their usual activities, while the other took part in an 24-week home-based physical activity program.

Participants in the exercise group worked out an average of 20 minutes in a day more than those in the control group. By the end of the study, participants in the exercise group performed better on cognitive tests and had better delayed recall. They also had lower Clinical Dementia Rating Scores.

When I stopped eating processed carbs it eliminated my short term memory problems. Now my mind is like a steel watchamacallit. :-)

Anything that increases oxygen flow to the brain will work...lol
(Get your mind out of the gutter....LOL....oh, wait, maybe not...:))
...THAT could work too....

Actually, what works for me is meditation. Interesting how it works actually when you slow down the bombardment of thoughts and sit in the moment for an hour...You become more focused, more steady, more alert, more able to problem solve, more able to cope with your environment...

(...I had a watchamacallit once but the doohicky's thingambobbers fell off....lol)  ~~an early quote from my 79yr dad before he started walking 5k up a mountain every morning at 6 am. Still does and he has beome even more sharp as a tack. My mum who never exercised her whole life, now suffers from dementia...
